Recieved the letter today ! I'm so happy, even though it has took a long time! The letter says they will hopefully be in touch by the end of January with training dates. Thanks to everybody for your support! Tom

One of Staffordshire's most dedicated volunteer police officers has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to policing in the Queens Birthday Honours. Special Constable Kevin Lee first joined Staffordshire Police in November 1977 and worked as a both a response officer and more latterly as a local neighbourhood officer in the town of Rugeley in Staffordshire. Have any of you guys seen the most recent grapevine live event? They have said there will be 3 intakes for regulars this year and none of it is going to be internally. Not sure if this is good or bad news. It's good they are recruiting but the competition to get one of those roles is going to be massive!

Hi all so training starts soon 5th April On our offer letter it states that we will get an email from the trainer prior to us starting any idea when we get this email as it said it gives us pre reading materiel any ideas...... Cheers guys

Hi Guys , Just a quick one , what are the current competencies for Staffordshire police regs :new_hmmm: ? Im aware of the competencies for West mids which are : Decision Making Leadership Professionalism Public Service Working with others Are these different for Staffs ?

Since there's not been a post in here in ages, and now that the Chief Officer has officially announced it on Twitter and ESIBS... from January 2014 all independent (i.e. signed off) Special Constables will be asked to complete a basic driving assessment which will include compliant stops from the rear. Thoughts? Personally, I think it's brilliant as the number of times I've seen someone on a phone, no seatbelt, no child seat(!) or driving in a less than satisfactory manner and not been able to do anything apart from shout up for a patrol (if one is available)... so all good in my book!

Hi guys. I believe that there's an assessment at the end of training? I'm not asking for the answers here but wonderd if any one could tell me about it? Is it hard? What happens if you fail? Do you have to start all over again? Thanx staffs

Hi guys just a quick one , i am due to attest on the 24th of this month so just two traing weekends left . Is ESIBS covered in training ? or introduced when you get to station ? reason i ask is because there has been no mention of it during training and i dont want to look a fool when i get to station and want to book shifts :new_doh2: Ryan200
