Hi Something spooked me yesterday, went for an eye test and was going great until they started checking me for colour blindness. I got a couple of pages into the book and that was it, couldn't see a thing, was guessing the numbers. I said to the lady conducting the test if I might be colour blind in some way and she replied 'oh i think so' in a kind of sarcastic way, as if it was the most stupid question in the world lol. Has anyone done this test? I'm now concerned that if I continue through the application process and if I get to the medical/eye test I'll be defeated.

Hi, Just a quick question. Does anyone have any details on the Civil Aviation Authority's decision to stop special constables doing shifts with the Air Support Group? The CAA website is quite big, has a lot of topics and publications and so is quite hard to navigate! I was wondering if anyone had a direct link to more information or anything? Cheers! Lucy x

I am going to visit Allerton station on Sunday for a visit in prep (so some of you may spy me) but is there anything else you could recommend other than read reading through my pack and browsing the Merpol website for info...

Hey guys, I recently applied to the Merseyside specials about 2 weeks ago and have been invited to an assessment day and have scheduled it for the 3rd November. I am just enquiring about a few things: 1. What should I wear? 2. What should I bring (ID, confirmation e-mail etc...)? 3. Is there anything else except the PIRT? 4. Do you have to write about yourself/do some independent writing? 5. When is the fitness test/is there a fitness test at all? 6. How long on average before you know your results? 7. Any advice you can give in terms of preparation? 8. What's next after I (hopefully) pass? I have searched through the forum for these answers but a lot of …
