Hello all, Thought it would be a good idea as a fellow applicant myself to create a discussion for the recent ongoing (and upcoming) recruitment drives which plan to put new police officers in place for 2017/18. Here we can discuss anything in regards to Derbyshire Constabulary. Has anybody else been successful so far in recruitment? You're welcome

Hi all I have my interview in January 2017 and I have done some extensive research into the constabulary. But I was wondering where is the best place to find or can someone help me identify national and local issues affecting the police? Thanks a lot for any help Sent from my iPhone using Police Community

I've put this here rather than in the downloads section as it makes it easier for requests/comments. I'm quite happy to customise the PNB inserts for you if you require it, and please let me know if anything needs changing/updating as certain things *may* have changed since this was prepared originally. I've not spotted anything obvious, but if you do, please let me know. Also, let me know if you need it in any other format than pdf PNB.pdf

Hi all, Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about the online assessments that some forces are running as part of the recruitment process? These are set before you get access to an application form, I'm guessing to reduce the initial paper sift the forces have to do by ruling candidates out. What should I expect? An eligibility questionnaire, personality test or will it be some form of SEARCH assessment? You do them from home so I presume there will be no maths or English questions, as it would be impossible to moderate. The force I'm applying to has 4 online assessment stages before anybody gets an application form. Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-G…

Hi Guys, I'm interested in visiting a Police Station, attending an Open Day or going on a Ride Along to get a better feel for the job. I rang Derbyshire Constabulary this afternoon to see if they are hosting an open day but they said nothing is planned for the near future. Short of ringing around each constabulary I thought I would ask if anyone knows of forces that are hosting a recruitment open days? Also, what is the best way to approach a station enquiring about a Ride Along, do they offer them to adults or is it more of a student work experience opportunity? Thanks.
