Ive only seen one thread about this on another forum so I thought that I should ask on here as well. Has anyone heard anything back from Derbyshire? Does anyone know how many people have applied? Good luck to everyone that has.

Hi There, I have just applied for this years intake of Derbyshire Specials and awaiting a date to attend a selection event after making through the initial written application. I would be keen to hear of from others who are making there way through the application process. Does anybody know if there will be a recruitment campaign this year for the regulars as ultimately this is something I would like to aim for? Regards Martin

Hi, I note Derbyshire specials can drive marked police cars however cannot carry out compliant stops: Is there a reason a special if following a car with a light out for example they cannot pull them over? what reason has the force given for not allowing specials to carry out this function? I note the specials constabulary police car has blue lights on the top? Siren Under what cicumstances can these be used? Any info would be appreciated

Hi there, I will be attending the assessment centre for Derbyshire Police next week. I was wondering if there is any tips any of you can give me for the day. They state I will be taking part in group activities followed by a written test. The day will last around 4 and a half hours. Thanks for any help!

Hi guys, I'm new here and have just passed the application form for Derbyshire Police specials. The group test and written exercise is next Saturday and if I pass that, fitness test on the 4th of June. Physical background/fitness/health Basically, I'm very unfit indeed. I'm 31 years old, I do not smoke and I am not obese. I am slim but no sign of a six pack for years lol! I have a desk job and eat many biscuits and cakes although I do have an apple and an orange each day. I do eat other healthy stuff sometimes such as a Sunday roast but mostly unhealthy stuff and I do take the dog for a walk so some exercise is involved. It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the death of serving Special Constable Shaun Theakston. Shaun joined Derbyshire Constabulary in January 2008 and served for all of his career within the force at Swadlincote. Shaun leaves his wife, Vikki, and two daughters; Briddie-Maie, 16-years-old, and Tayla, seven-years-old. In 2011, Shaun and his wife received a Chief Constable's commendation for helping to save a man's life who had been a passenger in a serious road accident.

Hi all, I am looking for advice from serving Police Officers if possible. I currently have an application at Med/Vetting stage with Derbyshire, but officers from any Force that could offer input would also be much appreciated. Just wondering whether anybody has heard anything after handing in their application on 30th June?

I have done the eligibility test for Derbyshire Constabulary only to be told that I don't meet the criteria because I don't have a formal level 3 qualification. I emailed recruitment stating that Im a special constable and asked if this was sufficient to which they said no as the winsor report states new pc applicant's must have a level 3 qualification or above. I then emailed them back saying that it also states experience as a PCSO or Special Constable is also sufficient. The reply I got was that there's nothing they can do as they are following the rules of the report but I don't feel like they are. If they are going to follow something at least follow it properly. …

Morning, I'm a serving Bedfordshire special, and have been for just over 3 years. I've got a potential job opportunity coming up which could see me returning to Derbyshire where I lived six years ago.
