Hey all, Hope this has not been posted on the Cambridgeshire specific before but i have checked the search and doesn't seem to have been. Was just wondering what the driving situation is for specials in Cambridgeshire?! Not that i am desperately hoping to drive because being a special in the first place is good enough for me. :grin: Cheers guys

As above really, I've been successful in the paper sift for Police Service Centre Operative. I was curious as to wether anybody had sat the Assessment Day, I know what it entails but only a basic outline. Any help would be gratefully recieved. Mitch

Could somebody give me some information about the pre-selection assessment for police officers? Not much information on their website. Any info, or advice would be much appreciated. Cheers

All, what sort of allowances and extras will be incorporated into a starting PC salary of 23k in cambs? Or is it just 23K full stop?

Out of sheer curiosity, along with the wish to weigh up my chances on this one, I was wondering if anybody knew how many regulars Cambridgeshire are recruiting in the July intake? As far as I'm aware they have two groups planned, one to sit the AC in August and the other to sit the AC in November? I read a figure in the polfed magazine but can't for the life of me remember the numbers! Thanks guys

Hey guys. Just got a quick question. I have my second medical on Tuesday and an appointment with the Force Medical Advisor. I also have to give a sample for the drugs test. I passed the fitness test and had the initial medical last week. The only other thing left is the vetting to come through. Basically, I wondered if anybody knows what this second medical appointment entails? Will I have to do more medical tests? Or is it just a 'chat'? Thanks Alex

Hi everyone, I have my first shift as a 'Probationary' Special Constable Christmas week, I wont say when as I do not want to jinx it. However, Does anyone have any tips for me to make my first shift go...smoothly? I know that I will not be able to predict what will happen on the shift but some general tips and advice would be great. I'm sure most people get nervous on their first shift (and excited too) but I hope this post will serve as a little bit of a 'helper' for everyone. Thank you in advance Tim

Hello everyone, I am asking for your advice and any help would be greatly appreciated. I am fast approaching my final assessment in the Induction Course to be a Special and I think that the trainers we have are doing a great job, supporting us throughout and giving us help where we need it. However, although I intend to do much revision before the assessment, at this present time I do not feel like an individual who has his final assessment in just under one months time and it is starting to...worry me. I ordered a Tac Vest from the patrol store and unfortunately the baton holder was too small to hold the Cambs issue hindi-cap baton's, I've sent mine back and been told the niton999 ones to accomodate our baton's. I shall post again to confirm.
