Well, I've gone through: papersift AC paperfit medical fitness and passed them. I'm being put forward for march and all thats remaining now is my vetting. I'm not worried about the security checking, as I've already passed that twice, and nothing has changed since, so thats just references, but I have the full ten years worth of those, so I guess they'll take a while to check. My query is, if I'm being put forward for March, assuming I pass vetting, when am I likely to get a letter notifying me? Because obviously there is the notice period at my current job, and I've got some other stuff to sort out first....I know I could ring HR and ask, but they're closed at …

So, I had a response for the "Any July 6 starters?" thread and this place seems to have gone quiet since - I guess they're all too busy learning to spend time on here now Any way, as per thread title: Any December 7 starters on here? I was reserve for July but didn't make it, so am eagerly awaiting news for a December start date. Anyone else?

Hey Guys, Unfortunately I had to miss the intro day on the 26th. I've figured that we're in Huntingdon HQ for the first 3 weeks and then we're sent off to our own little areas (I'm at Cambridge, Parkside) but does anyone know how long it is until we're off 09:30-16:30 and start on shift work???

So, judging by the date of the last post on here, I can guess the answer, but I'll ask anyway. Is there anyone on here part of Cambs or going through the Cambs app process at the moment? The forum seems pretty heavily weighted with Met and GMP members so just wondered if there was anyone else from my chosen force.

If you fancy a career in the Police and your not sure about joining as a full time Police Officer or PCSO then why not join as a Special Constable. Although you are NOT paid to do this job you will be trained well and will look very professional and have the same powers as full time police officers. There is often a lot of debate on the forum about putting yourself on duty should you witness a crime. Most of the debate gets quite heated and loads of people I'm sure with a noble cause, allow their own values to influence such. FORCE POLICY in cambs is that 'you will NOT put yourself on duty but act as a professional witness.Unless there is a serious threat to life/property' remember kids you've got no PPE and no radio and help may be miles away.

Although she wasn't a special, I would like to extend my thanks to a WPC who attended an RTC yesterday afternoon, which involved my girlfriend. Although she wasn't seriously injured, she was very shaken up and there was a lot of damaged caused to both vehicles involved. The profesionalism from the WPC was outstanding an massively helped the situation. Just wanted to put in a good word for the work she put in, as you often hear negative things on the news etc. Thanks again. Would anyone be able to offer me a regular lift from central Cambridge to the training in Huntingdon, starting in April? I'm around the corner from Parkside if that helps. The bus fare is £5 (just went today to get fitted for my uniform) and I'd be pleased to offer that in return for a regular, reliable lift. Bullying is the lowest form of policing that I and my colleagues know. If this is how you wish to police then your days with the force will be numbered. There is a code of acceptable behaviour which you will have recieved and read. my self and my colleagues will not tolerate it and do all in our power to put a stop to it, if you feel that you cannot approach us, then PSD or the specials team, are a phone call away.
