Hi all, i havent applied to join yet, but looking to do it in the new year when i finally start getting better. Its just an enquiry but i been seeing a few posts on another forum about getting assessed at Huntingdon police station. But i was wondering if they do the training or any of the assessments in Cambridge?? But i have read that the training is on Wednesdays and Sundays. And at the moment i am short on cash every week so if the training is in Huntingdon its going to be a pain trying to afford to get there every week. Can anyone help with my question?

Hi everyone, This may seem like a cheeky question but bear with me... I am filling in my Special Constable application at the moment and come across a question that I cannot figure out. In the 'Questions' section, Q3 says 'Are you able to maintain confidentiality and integrity? Please provide a description of a situation where this skill has been required. ' I have plenty of examples for the other questions but for this question above I can't even figure out what they are asking for or (if any) which competency they are marking. I am not asking for someone to answer the question for me but a few pointers would be great. I know it is a bit cheeky to ask but I've spe…

Hi everyone, I am thinking of applying to Cambridgeshire Special Constabulary as a, very good, step towards being a Regular in the (hopefully) near future once I have got some more experience. However, I have noticed that some other forces allow their Specials to...erm...specialise in certain areas, RPU etc etc. Does the same happen with Cambs? As there is not real mention of it on their website, or I am not looking hard enough. If there is could someone provide me with some more information, please. Specifically detail on Roads Policing (what Specials do with them, extra training they do etc) as this is where I would like to go once I am a Regular. Although, obviousl…

Today see's the final shift of Cambs AOU. (See link here http://www.huntspost...orrow_1_1332784) Forgive the intrusion into Camb's patch by an Essex officer, but I've worked a lot with the crews from Wyton over the last two years and to see them finally go is a sad day indeed. Its true that its limped along over the last 6 months or so as the officers there looked at new career options, therefore forcing a reduction in the hours they were available, but I've always found them to be a good bunch of officers who will be missed from the Air Ops community. Try and make the most of them being around during the day tomorrow as after that its going to be long transit times fr…

I am now horrendously livid and, I have to say, hacked off. The Cambs Police website has just in the last few hours put up an application to attend an evening on recruitment to become a reg. I checked the site in the early part of the afternoon. I've just received notifications that BOTH are full. INSANE! This is just totally insane. I'm so angry I could spit.

Morning ladies and gents, If any serving specials in Cambs are interested I am currently having a clear out and have two Blackstone's Police Manuals from 2010 (Crime + Evidence and Procedure). They are both in fairly good condition and if anyone wants them they are going for free since I've just bought the 2012 series. Slightly out of date I know but for Crime (offence definitions and explanations etc) it was extremely helpful whilst I was doing my IPLDP training course. PM me if you want them guys. If not they will be going to the Specials office at my local nick at the end of the month. First come first served basis and I'll stick them in the internal mail. Anyone wh…

Hello, I recently applied online to Cambridgeshire Constabulary to become a Special Constable, I am currently waiting to be advised of an assessment date as my application was accepted. :D I wanted to ask, anyone who has completed the assessment centre recently, what are the ins and outs of the day? What happens from the moment you walk in the door, to the moment you walk out? I would just like to know as much as possible to prepare as best i can! Either way really just looking forward to the experience.

Posted Yesterday by Cambs Cambridgeshire Police is looking for the next generation of Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to work across the county. A recruitment campaign has started this week to take on 15 new PCSOs to support the work of police officers within the community - being the eyes and ears on the streets and offering reassurance to the people of the county. Raphael Frascogna, trainee HR manager, said: "PCSOs provide a high-profile visible uniformed presence to support communities by assisting in minimising incidents of anti-social behaviour, reducing the fear of crime and reassuring the public - ultimately helping to make Cambridgeshire a safer place…
