Dear Cambridgeshire colleagues, You may have noticed on the General Discussion page a posting for the ps.com supported 'Special Constabulary Wiki'. I am wondering, should any of you have a spare moment, whether you can contribute by populating the page for your force? The page can be found here: http://specialconstabulary.wikispot.org/Cambridgeshire_Constabulary Many thanks and look forward to reading about the specials in Cambridgeshire! Matt.

Hi all, is there anybody for the September '12 intake aware of the status of their SC application progress; i.e. vetting in? Also if you know any provisional dates (uniform fitting, training, expected attestation, etc.) upfront that would be handy too. Cheers.

Evening everyone. A uni friend of mine has applied to Cambs to be a regular officer. I have been asked what the regular PIRT consists of and because my own force doesn't use the PIRT I can't answer his question. I was wondering if any of you delightful people could explain what the regular PIRT consists of and I will rely the message back to him (or get him to join this forum). I have been told its spelling and grammar etc but confirmation would be great! Much appreciated Cookie

Hello guys, I have some concerns, questions and would appreciate your input Whilst I'm aware vetting can take forever and a day I would like to know how long your vetting took from sending yoir forms to HQ. I have been successful at the assessment centre in January but only just sent the forms myself. I have fully filled in all the forms sent to myself, but there wasn't anything asked about family other than my Mother and Father, my concern is my half-brother who has a criminal record, which I don't know what exactly for, but I would say he was involved in burglary and falsifying cheques when I was very young. I'm not in regular contact with him and he also lives abro…

Hi everyone, just a quick message to introduce myself! Just discovered this very useful site. I have currently passed my A/C and i'm a few weeks into Specials Training now and absolutely loving it. I'm an impatient sort, would love to eventually end up in the regs, but one step at a time! The material is comprehensive and i've got a decent trainer. My only problem is i want to get out there! I'm in Central Division, should be working out the St. Ives and Hnutingdon area. Anyone else policing that beat? Many thanks guys.

Hi Everyone, Saw a couple of Police officers in Cambridge city centre today - You guys have some pretty decent kit by the looks of things! Am I correct in thinking that you get issued both a high-vis stabvest cover as well as a black one - also, I love the PNB holder in the middle - a few colleagues of mine in Essex have cut a hole in to their stabbie and made their own - doesn't have quite the same charm to it. So you've got them, the black polo shirts, you get a proper light weight high-vis which as epaulette slides etc and the battenberg markings - (Our one in Essex has no epaulette space on it, instead we have our warrant number on the back and front). Not compla…
