There a lot of talk in certain circles about 'mass uprising' and 'unity of the oppressed' and so on. At the last student protests there were 30,000 to 52,000 people attending.. Big deal, you get 60,000 people in the Emirates every fortnight.

Hey, I've seen quite a few posts on the forum about religion and beliefs and there seem to be quite a few Christians on here. I'm curious to know, if you ARE a Christian, what is your testimony and how did you come to Christ?

So, Recently there has been/will be a meeting with in the Govt. to vote whether we should leave the EU. The EU apparently cost £4.1bn in 09' and will rise to £6.4bn. Can these numbers be accurate, if they are is this not a waste of money? What else could we be doing with that sort of money? Heres an option - Sort of the mess Labour have made with the economy? So, what are you thoughts. Stay, or leave?

Reading reports and seeing images of this poppy burning business, gives me the feeling of despair. The extremists ruining the image of the whole of Islam. I'm not a Muslim, but have plenty of Muslim friends, who condemn the actions of these extremists as much as the next person. I've actually studied Islam, and the politics of the middle east, and I have a certain affection towards the religion. To me, it promotes the right qualities in a person (on the whole), and I can understand why Muslims hold their faith so close to their heart. And then these idiots start burning poppy's and waving stupid signs around.. Pages like this though, make me feel really uneasy. '…

Well done to Guardsman Wilby. An insurgent bomber, caught red-handed laying deadly improvised explosive devices, is facing a life of imprisonment after a British soldier from the 1st Battalion Irish Guards gave chase across a minefield to catch him. The insurgent, who could have caused the deaths of many troops or Afghan civilians, is facing Afghan justice thanks to Guardsman Lewis Wilby's heroic actions. Despite being weighed down with more than 60lbs (27kg) of kit, the 26-year-old Irish Guardsman outran the bomber, sprinting across uncleared ground where IEDs were known to have been laid, and caught him as he tried desperately to hide out in a local villager's comp…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-jersey-12634026 Jersey's public health department is considering whether to ban smoking in cars. It comes as a British Lung Foundation petition was presented to the UK government calling for a smoking ban in cars carrying children. Andrew Heaven, Jersey's head of health improvement, said they were considering extending the smoke free legislation to all motor vehicles. He said the public health advice was to encourage people not to smoke in cars. As part of Jersey's smoking in the workplace ban since 2007, smoking has been banned in work vehicles that are used by more than one person. Mr Heaven said: "We have written into our tob…

Hi all, I have recently finished a 6 month home learning Certificate In Terrorism studies from St. Andrews University. Has anyone else done this? How did you find it? I would seriously recommend the course to anyone working as a police officer or in risk based areas of employment. It was intense, but my assignment deadlines were relaxed if I was unable to get it done on time. Rob Link: My Link

Canadians can now take comfort in the fact that the current Tory government is set to improve a citizens right to arrest law breakers. The pro and cons are still being hashed out, but the report below from the Winnipeg Free Press is pretty accurate. It will be interesting to see where this goes. TORONTO -- Canadians who nab bad guys or act in self-defence could soon have better protection from legal reprisals, prompting concerns that people might be encouraged to take the law into their own hands. In announcing the proposed measures on Thursday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said it simply wasn't fair for people to face prosecution for protecting themselves or making…

Question? If a Police Officer, (excluding Federal Officers,) travels via internal flights over various State borders. Does that Officer have to surrender his official firearm to the Sky Marshall or aircraft Captain for safekeeping until arrival at destination airport? Can a US Police Officer from one State on official duty who crosses into another State's jurisdiction, be allowed to carry a firearm? Just curious.
