Maybe there is such a provision and I can't find it but if there isn't one, I reckon it would be a good idea to have one. Cheers IrishCop

Is there a page that details all the "levels" for the star system - e.g. "Learning The Ropes", "Settling in", etc?

Hi, I've signed in today to find I have some now items added under my nick, I'm just wondering how come I've received these. Don't get me wrong I'm happy just slightly confused as I don't think I've done anything really to deserve them especially the site sponsor? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hiya, Just noticed I have Chat Mini Mod and Community Lead awards - have I been promoted whilst I've been less active or is this a glitch? I don't mind either way, but don't want to be expected to be doing something that I am unaware of (e.g. I hardly ever go into the Chat room) thanks

Not sure if you are aware but I just wanted to point out that the banner at the very bottom of the forum has a spelling error within it - where it says 'Assessment Centre' the 'n' is missing from 'assessment' See picture attached:

Not really a big deal but thought I'd mention it, when listening to music on my iPhone, when I go onto the policecommunity website, it shuts off my music. only website that does it. it's just a passing annoyance really.

I'm really sorry to ask this, but I CANNOT figure out how to send a person a PM! I've tried viewing the members part of the site, but it says I don't have permission. And I cannot clink on people's names on threads either, so I have no idea how to do it. Could anybody please advise? Thank you and sorry

Hello, members of UKPoliceOnline, I'm happy to join you on this site. I'm writing a book with a literary agent. Within this book, there is one scene involving a crime (shoplifting) and the police. I would really like to ensure that the representation of police procedure in this scene is authentic, and as such, was wondering if I could take a minute of your time to ask you questions relating to this scene? I don't know what the usual etiquette is with forums and things, I can ask the questions publicly here, or I can swap email addresses with any of you who are interested in helping? To be clear, this is a FICTIONAL situation. I am not in any way requesting legal advice…

Have you got any stats for how active the blog section of the forum is compared to how active the old board for "What I Did On Duty" reports was? Ie. Views and posts/comments? The board used to seem quite active and, probably most importantly, was easy to see when there was a new entry. The blogs seem quite few and far between and you have to manually open it to see if there are any new entries, and even when an entry is made there doesn't seem to be many comments compared to replies when it used to be a thread From looking at the views/replies count in the historic blog archive that would appear to support my observations. It was a nice thing to h…

Well, last time I posted a thread on here I was 16 and was seeking advice on education. Now I'm 20, 2nd year law student and still an aspiring police officer! Long story short I have social anxiety, I've been to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) but it hasn't helped much with my anxiety. I'm currently on 30mg mirtazapine and I was wondering the effects on my future application. I don't have a problem with people per se, I basically overthink about my own thoughts which causes anxiety and sometimes mild panic attacks. Will this have an effect on my application? I've always wanted to become a police officer, I used to be police cadet, then I studied Public Services, and…

Sorry if this has been asked before (I looked but did not see). I've just posted a thread in UK policing news and it has an exclamation mark symbol and says 'awaiting approval'. As far as I know I'm not on moderated posts, but the subject matter is perhaps mildly controversial. Any ideas why this is?

Hi all, Sorry if I am posting in the wrong section, I am new to the forum. Wondering if anyone can help as I have been asked to arrange me fitness test, having been successful at interview for a police staff role. The letter mentions the bleep test (to achieve level 5.4), but does not mention the push/pull (Dynamic Strength) test ... does anyone know if Surrey Police still require this? Just want to be prepared! Thanks for anyone that can reply.
