Has anyone got a slightest clue on where to get information in relation to this exam? I was told that officers who would like to transfer from a Scottish police force to E&W has to pass this exam as part of the transfer process.

Anyone been keeping up to date with the latest developments in solicitor access rights? Current guidelines for my force now state that questioning under caution is now a no go before a suspect has been afforded solicitor access rights. This includes minor offences such as Section 23 possession, carrying offensive weapons and other offences which would normally have involved some form of brief roadside Q&A. For example, this would mean that finding a small amount of cannabis on a person with no previous convictions would involve detaining them under section 14 (after section 23 procedure is complete), taking them to a police office and offering solicitor access right…

If sombody carrys an item behond the tills of a supermarket and heads for the door. Does he/she commit theft by shop lifiting, even though he/she is not out the main door? Would it be attempted theft by shop lifting? Sombody able to clarify? Thanks.

Hi folks, I had a little indecent today that is annoying me. While overtaking some slower traffic on a dual carriageway I was approached from behind by a vehicle travelling considerably faster than me. I was travelling about 55 in a 50. The driver then proceeded to tailgate me about a foot off my rear bumper. I realised I was breaking the speed limit and slowed down to 50. When I had cleared the traffic on the inside lane I indicated to move to the inside lane. This thread, but with Scots law. You come across two people arguing in the streets. Its very heated. One tries punching the other, the other dodges and then restrains him. Your about 5-10 seconds away and you started running in as soon as you saw the punch thrown. Would you arrest both men, only one, and why/why not?

I will keep this as short as possible Seperated 3 years ago ( ex very bitter ) Since then i have had over 20 false allegations made against, me by my ex, everything from verbal abuse to sexually assaulting our now 4 year old daughter. Arrested several times, nights in the cells, never charged no charges pending. All the allegations are totally spurious and continue to date. Local officer tells me that unless she admits that these allegations are false there is nothing the police can do. I dont understand how she can get away with this sickening behaviour, surely this is wasting police time ?. No money left for lawyers Any advice, pointers greatfuly accepted

Good evening folks , I have an issue with my neighbours at the moment , They are continually shouting and arguing with each other i often have my 17mths old son staying he gets woken up ive called the police around 5 or 6 times now often twice in one week , I was wondering what action could be taken against them if the cops ever decide to do something as last week the two officers asked me if i still wanted them to have a word with him ? Here is an incident I'd like to have a moan about. Last week at my Crossing Point. I raised Stop Sign. There was a car approaching me. It was quite a distance from me. I went onto road with Stop Sign Raised. Before I reached middle of road, this car had reached me. It must have been travelling a lot faster than I thought. It slowed down. Is anybody aware of any case law that says you must have corroboration to use your powers of arrest in Scotland? I am happy with the need for corroboration in relation to evidence that a crime has been committed but say for example your single crewed and you come across an individual wanted on warrant, where does it state you need corroboration to effect that arrest? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
