I just have a few questions about cycling these days... If you have a road a with cycle lane on both sides, should a cyclist ride on the left? Since I often see people riding on the wrong side of the road down a cycle lane against the flow of traffic. When I was a youngster if you rode on the pavement, or at night without lights, you had to keep a look out for police cars since they would certainly stop you. I may be wrong, but nowadays and certainly in my area, the police don't seem that interested in stopping cyclist for such infringements. A random thought If someone parks on my drive and leaves the vehicle there (perhaps for a number of days or does thos routinely) if they return and I prevent them from recovering it, saying that the council have been informed and are coming to recover the abondoned vehicle do I commit any offences? For example I have a right to eject trespassers. I'm not dishonestly appropriating the property (I'm fed up with it being left there) nor am I intending to permanently deprive him of it (he can get it from the council pound after they've picked it up). I have a few questions I'm hoping some of you current officers may be able to help with. I'm writing a book at present and just want to confirm how a couple of things work. One of the characters is seriously ill and one day another individual enters her house, suffocates her with a pillow (until she's unconscious rather than dead) and then injects her with insulin. She doesnt actually die but is in a diabetic coma in hospital and hasnt regained consciousness. Hey all, After watching hours of Ray Mears, I've decided to get into bush-craft. Now I need to pick out a knife, but I know there are strict law/rules/policies when it comes to carrying knives. It's my understanding that I can only carry a knife under 3 inches and it cannot be a fixed blade. My former partner and I are separated and we have a 5 year old Son. The County Court has granted me a Shared Residency Order which means that I have equal rights as a parent to his Mother, and this is recognised by social services, his school and GP etc. If his mother were to become ill or unable to look after him, he could automatically come and live with me, so I have been granted significant rights. Although my Son still spends most of his time living with his mother, the court has defined that he should also spend a lot of the time living with me. If an employer gets an enhanced CRB for a prospective employee, and that person was convicted of several counts of the same offence at the same hearing, what shows on the CRB? Does it just show one offence of 'driving without insurance' with the court date, or does it show the different occassions as different offences with the dates they happened. I suspect that some employers would not see one driving offence as significant, but may think differently if they saw a repeated pattern of offending.

Your investigating a missing person case (nothing suspicious just trying to find them). The person reporting them missing lies about the circumstances surrounding them leaving. They do this so as to not get in trouble for screwing up (not criminally). Any offences?

Hi all, I just wonder if somebody could give me some advice about this. I'm a photographer from Southern Ireland (currently studying in Belfast) and I was visiting Sheffield during the week. Afternoon, Genuine question for a friend, not me as I am an angel behind the wheel. Appreciate this has nothing to do with Policing and the outcome is down to the Magistrates but hoping someone knows. Friend has 9 points on his licence and is expecting a court date for doing something like 58 in a 40 which means he is going too fast to do a speed awareness course according to Oxfordshire Fixed Penalty office. If he got banned, would your points be wiped off and when your licence is issued back, would he technically have zero points again?
