Dear all, Hope everyone is having an amazing day, I must admit I am very lucky to have been introduced to this forum. I have applied for the role of PCSO in the MET, passed paper sift and invited to day 1 end of September. I will be honest, it has been a long time since I have attended an Interview, and the only thing that HR sent me via email was how to get to Empress House, some guides on completing the vetting form and a briefing pack on what to expect on Day 2. I have scoured the forums and seen a lot of mention about a interview preparation pack, I have checked both the recruitment portal and the emails I have received, none of these have any mention or attachm…

Hello, i have my interview and scenarios questions next week. For my interview PQAs I'm fairly confident, I was in the fire service and the questions are based around the same behaviours. I am young and have done my research about the role, issues facing the police, what strategies and programs my force are pushing etc. It is the scenarios I am worried about. We had an information event and they explained we would be given 2 scenarios, with 15 mins to write notes before being asked about what we've wrote and why. Could anyine tell me what sort of things they will be looking for? thanks.

Hello, I am interested in a Enquiry Office Advisor role, with a south-west police force, and was wondering if anyone had any tips for the interview stage and the role itself. Also any general information would be helpful, such as, do they wear uniform, are there favourable ages for this role etc. This would be my first police job, but not first uniformed role, and I have experience with customers in a bar role. Thank you, fbo194.

Hello everyone and thank you for accepting my request to join this forum! I have a couple of questions about the PIRT test: I understand it is a national test, but is it the same for Police Officers and for PCSOs? And also, do you have any suggestions of materials I could use to prepare myself for this test? Is it worth buying any books and if it is, which ones? I was notified last week that my application for a PCSO with Bedfordshire Police had been shortlisted and I was given 2 dates to choose from for my assessment day: 22nd and 24th of March. I feel like there is so little time to prepare. After I chose a date and time for my assessment, they sent …

Hy, I have applied to be a police constable and have recently passed all my exams and the assessment centre. I have been trying to get in for well over a year and have finally done it. Recently I have had my checks back for my vetting and they have come back that I have failed. I couldn't believe it. I have never been in trouble with the police before or know if any one who has. I was just hoping there is someone on here that could possibly help me and give me advice on what I have to do or can do to try and overturn this decision. Thanks in advance Woosnam Sent from my iPhone using Police Community

Hello, Im currently in the process of joining the PCSO's and have my interview on the 15th, today I thought I should test my BMI in my local Boots on one of their machines, Shocked too find out I scored 29!... I thought to my self this doesnt seem right as that classes me as Obese, I am 5,4 and weight 78Kg, I am 100 percent sure I am not fat but also not slim, I go to the gym every day and some would say I am quite muscular and beefy, After doing a little research the max BMI for the police is 29... I don't understand? Do I need to lose weight? Please take into consideration my height. Thanks.

Hey folks! Firstly, cheers to the staff for letting be a part of the forum! I've always been interested in joining the police force, so back in January when I noticed South Wales Police recruiting for PCSO's I jumped at the chance. I've passed all the recruitment process, vetting, fitness and health, been at every appointment well before time and retained a good manner for communication with the HR recruitment process. I was expecting to receive the email last Friday, with 1 month until the proposed training date. Being the sceptic I am, I tried not to build my hopes up, despite being offered a conditional offer. Recently the SWP recruitment site had some errors, so…

Right, Im Ross. I'm 21, and have finally plucked the courage up to try and better myself and make something of my life, I am currently stuck in a dead end job with no sign of progression in the company. I decided it was time to try and fulfill my life long ambition of becoming a traffic officer. Now obviously it isn't as easy as applying for your everyday job, and there are many steps to take before becoming a traffic officer.. But i have made a start... I have searched and searched for PCSO availability in the West Midlands but have come up with nothing as of yet, Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction. As i'm aware becoming a PCSO is pro…

Hi, I'm egg. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I can't see a specific PCSO area :) Is anyone else going through the recruitment process for Thames Valley Police? I hope there will be enough people joining/getting through in order to start training in September as planned. I'd be interested to know how anyone else is getting along. They seem to have something like a rolling recruitment process. Also wondering if people were intending to join the regulars at some point. I'd heard that a few people who did so regretted it and wished they'd remained in their PCSO role!
