I was a passenger in a car that was hit from behind whilst at a junction recently. Slight lower back pain for less than an hour and then fine. The driver passed my details over to his insurance company - the amount of phone calls and letters I received from injury law firms surprised me. Even though I told them I was fine I then had them telling me it may get worse in the next few days! Tonight, I worked in A&E and the last two people who came in had been hit whilst stationary and had received neck and back problems. In the attached article the idea of writing to people who have been arrested and charged and found guilty of protest related offences seems a good idea to me. I am not sure what the plan is if they attend but I can see the logic (a bit like keeping football hooligans out of football grounds). The bit where it goes wrong is where the police have sent the same letter to those who were arrested but then had all charges dropped - this seems unfair. In the article it also mentions that those who were arrested and later found they had no charge to answer or found not guilty are surprised they are being kept on a database (I'm not). It just reinforces my point really about how …

At least 16 people were feared dead today after a 27-vehicle crash on the M5 with the death toll expected to rise further. The horror smash on the northbound carriageway of near Taunton, Somerset, involved 23 cars and vans and four lorries. PARENTS of a young girl in America who was groomed for sex by a Peterborough paedophile have praised Cambridgeshire police after he was jailed.
