A pair of thieves have been jailed after posting photos of themselves on Facebook posing with cars they had stolen. http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16110512 The Metropolitan Police have asked retailers to free up shop staff on full pay to work as special constables during the Olympic Games in an effort to boost police numbers. The programme called Employer Supported Policing could help to fill the deficit in security personnel needed to protect London and the Olympic venues in 2012. i cannot see Retailers standing for this, I believe most are trying to cut the hours of their staff. Looking at stories like this one is it any wonder the U.S. wants to bring in the FBI to London.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15729023 Only a small proportion of the tens of thousands of children who run away each year are reported to police as missing, a report suggests. "Only 17% of runaways said they were reported to the police as missing." - Holy Tim on a tricycle! if we are only dealing with the 17% who go missing then i hope upon hope that they dont all start being reported. we only just about cope with the dozens who go missing every single day. Most of whom are in the care of social service who will report people missing at the drop of a hat, which is of course following procedure, but not that helpful compared to keeping them in. Less than helpful comments. I would have thought it would have been better for everyone to showing a united front rather than engaging in inter-force mud-slinging

A man has been arrested after being rescued naked from the sea in Dorset. Coastguards received reports of a man in the water in Poole Harbour off Poole Town Quay in the early hours of Saturday. The town's inshore lifeboat was launched to help the man but when the crew pulled him from the water they discovered he was naked. The man, who was not injured, was arrested by police on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-15711916 Best D&D arrest ever. Would love to be the one booking him in.
