http://policeoracle.com/news/Op-Audacious-Hits-Drug-Dealers-Hard_41911.html Police carried out 100 warrants at the homes of those suspected of drug dealing across the three Manchester divisions (north Manchester, south Manchester and Metropolitan divisions), as well as at one address each in Salford, Stockport and Bolton. Got to admire the huge effort put in by our police, WD!!

Source:http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/the-moment-protesters-found-a-plainclothes-cop-in-their-midst-6270908.html This sort of thing makes me laugh; we're expected to play by the rules and be "held to account" and "non-invasive" against people who don't play by the rules in any way whatsoever. U/C's are in my mind a legitimate and reasonable way of investigating and detecting crimes, and if you aren't doing anything wrong then why should it matter? The only people who need to worry are the people who cross the line, and their opinions I don't give a squit about.

Drivers should be banned from drinking any alcohol at all before getting behind the wheel, a top police officer said last night. Deputy Chief Constable Suzette Davenport, who is responsible for policing the roads of England and Wales, called for the drink-drive limit to be reset to zero. She said the controversial change would drastically reduce the number killed and seriously injured on our roads each year. And she pledged to call on Government ministers to consider moving to one of the toughest drink-drive regimes in Europe. It is the first time a police officer in her role has called for motorists to be stopped from drinking any alcohol whatsoever. Her comments will r…

The tin blue line: Met unveil revolutionary police barrier to prevent anti-cuts demonstrators marching on the Houses of Parliament By CHRIS SLACK Last updated at 6:40 PM on 30th November 2011 Comments (0) Share After a summer of discontent that saw hundreds of rioters roam the streets of the capital, the Metropolitan Police needed to take action. And it appears that this imposing 10foot high steel structure is their answer to the problem. The police cordon was erected at the north end of Whitehall near Trafalgar Square this afternoon in an attempt to stop anti-cuts protesters heading towards Parliament. The Metropolitan Police say that the…

UK riots: police had to use their own mobiles Police were forced to use their own mobile phones during the August riots after a multi-billion pound radio system collapsed, according to a leaked internal report on how UK forces responded to the disorder. Police were left "directionless" and lacked riot equipment and radios during the disturbances. Photo: GETTY IMAGES By Matthew Holehouse 1:38PM GMT 04 Dec 2011 Police officers sent from other forces were unable to confront marauding gangs because of a shortage of riot equipment, it claims. The failure of the digital Airwave radio network used by the Metropolitan Police was one of the reasons why the capital's officers…

Recently in the news I caught a piece on drink drivers losing their licences within 90 minutes of charge. Of course, I pricked my ears up; obviously being actively involved in helping such drivers to do just that. The link to the article can be found here. It involves the defendant, having been charged and whilst still at the police station to plead guilty to the magistrates court via a live stream video link. The argument being that its saves everybody’s time and relieves the defendant of the luxury of keeping his or her driving licence until their subsequent court appearance. I am now to understand that this method of plea is being considered for other offences as well …
