Facing jail: Macclesfield policeman who asked barman to take the blame for drink-driving rap A police officer and a barman are facing jail after they lied in court to help a cop avoid a drink drive ban. PC Myles Hughes was caught over the limit but said he had been served the wrong drinks by pub worker Paul Doyle.[/size] Hughes and Doyle, both 35, have now admitted they lied to magistrates during the officer's court case last November. Hughes, from Macclesfield, was a serving GMP officer at the time of the offence. He pleaded guilty to drink driving but kept his licence when the court was told Doyle gave him a lager top rather than a shandy, a weaker drink. Doyle ba…

A Met Police officer has been signed off sick with a 'broken heart' for four months after being dumped by a married colleague, it was claimed today. The detective is believed to have been left devastated when her lover went back to his estranged wife. The unnamed pair are said to have set up home together after meeting at work when the male officer's marriage had broken down. But after setting up home together in a 17th-century coach house worth £500,000, he went back to his jilted wife. The two officers' relationship lasted just three months. A Facebook campaign is calling for people to boycott a shopping centre after claims a man was questioned by police for taking photographs of his own four-year-old daughter. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-15236758 Thou the only reason this made the news is because the of Police involvement, they had really not much to do with it, Police were called got details, left. It seem more of the rights and wrongs in the attempted enforcement of some very daft rules by the shopping centre. Now from not being allowed to take pictures of his own daughter, the daughter is splashed across so many news outlets. A very strange decision

Intresting programme, most people detest T Wardens with a passion, but i suspect some of the Wardens attitude attracts hostility, also the cries of Get a real job!!!!! and the general abuse they get is awful, however at least the Wardens got the message of what England is really like!! http://www.channel4.com/programmes/confessions-of-a-traffic-warden/4od

A schoolgirl was raped after police failed to act on two phone calls from a member of the public who saw the victim being attacked, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has ruled. Paedophile Colin Riddall pounced on the teen outside the gates of her school in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire as she walked home from a friend's house. Riddall, 44, gagged and blindfolded his victim and drove her to a quiet lane where he beat her up. The attack was witnessed by an ex-Metropolitan Police Officer who called 999 - but police at Gloucestershire Police graded the call a 'Category Two' incident, meaning it only required a response within the next four hours. The former p…

A law used to prosecute Muslim extremists for burning poppies on Remembrance Sunday is set to be scrapped. The proposal is part of Home Office changes to public order laws in the wake of the summer riots, which will also see police given new powers to impose blanket curfews and to force rioters to remove face masks. Currently it is an offence to use 'threatening, abusive or insulting' words in public, under section five of the Public Order Act 1986. But civil liberties groups claim the restriction on 'insulting' speech is an unfair curb on free speech. Religious groups have also criticised the law because the police have used it to arrest harmless Christian protesters. …
