A gay Metropolitan Police officer who had a close friendship with Michael Barrymore is the latest person to launch a phone-hacking claim against the Murdoch media empire. Scotland Yard has told Dan Lichters, who comforted the troubled television presenter in 2001 following the death of a man in his swimming pool, that he was an alleged target of a private investigator who worked for the News of the World. The former plain-clothes constable has joined former Labour minister Claire Ward and Meg Mathews, the ex-wife of rock star Noel Gallagher, in lodging claims for damages against the defunct Sunday tabloid. News International is now facing more than 30 official phone-hac…

LINK HERE I don't know about the rest of you, but this makes me feel sick. On the BBC version, while insisting his client will fight any attempt to keep him suspended until the re-trial, his lawyer is quoted as saying... A number of officers under investigation have died or committed suicide - perhaps he should consider that too! If this was in Russia, somebody would have paid him a visit by now with some Polonium laced tea...!

This article made me throw up. I'm posting it to emphasise how unpredictable the role of Police Officer can be and shows the sorts of calls you could be expected to deal with. The Officers who entered the flat found her 4 year old baby in a pool of blood, with her liver taken out, and her mother chanting. My thoughts are with these Officers and the family.
