Lack of police blamed for delays in visiting vulnerable children Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe Vulnerable children in Kingston are potentially being left in danger due to "a lack of police availability", according to an Ofsted inspection of “inadequate” Kingston Council. Vital visits by social workers and police to see if a child is suffering physical, sexual or emotional abuse or neglect are being delayed. Kingston Council has contacted Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe to resolve the problem. Council leader Liz Green said the constant change in police leadership – with three borough commanders in a year - had a "destabilising" effect. She said: "We'v…

Seeing lots of reports about this via social media, also briefly mentioned on Sky. Apparently there is a mosque nearby so that is what all the news reports seem to be focusing on. But this tweet from a reporter narrows it down a bit; Be interesting to see how this develops.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2360137/Denis-MacShane-ex-Labour-MP-charged-false-accounting-expenses.html I don't have any sympathy for MacShane, a smug, arrogant man, but it seems to me that there has been a bit of a witch hunt against certain MP's, but others have been allowed to get away with it, i.e Jackboot Jacqui(her of the two Porn Movies, and the Bath Plug) and the £108,000 for one room in her sisters house, and many others like Moran who got away with it by pleading depression. I wonder what would have happened to Teflon if they hadn't accidentally shredded his expences.

http://m.guardian.co.uk/media/2013/jul/10/julian-assange-ecuadorian-embassy-police-cost?CMP=twt_gu There must be a reason why Assange is worth £4 million to us, although I can't think why. This is not in the public interest, value for money but does keep the bloody Yanks happy. I know I harp on about a visible deterrent and I get told "lack of resource". Perhaps I should say I've seen Mr Assange; I'd be inundated with my visible deterrent.
