http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2358669/Jailing-Britains-notorious-murderers-forever-breaches-THEIR-human-rights-European-court-rules.html - so the EU Court has gone against our own Parliament with regard to 'whole life tarriffs'. I think the time has come to get out of the EU Convention on legal matters and deal with our criminals the way we want to. Time for Ms May to show some courage and tell the EU Court to get knotted.

Armed police have been dealing with the "contained incident" at Morton Avenue, Kidlington, since 03:40 BST. Police say the girl's twin sister has been released by the man, who is thought to be armed and is believed to be the girls' father. The force said the road had been closed until further notice to "allow police operations to safely take place". Girl released Thames Valley Police said the man had made no threat to the girls and was not asking for an…

Drink-drivers who blow only marginally positive in a breath-test are to be stripped of their statutory right to a second-chance blood or urine test under a new Government legal crackdown. The controversial measure aims to counter 'delaying tactics' by drunk motorists who play for time and exploit legal loopholes to escape conviction. A new Bill put before Parliament today removes motorists' statutory right to a second-opinion blood or urine test where a breath test reading is just above, but close to, the legal limit. This will close the loophole allowing those testing marginally positive in breath-tests to play for time to sober up while they wait for a blood or urin…

Worth posting as it still appears to be going on. There are lots of rumours floating about at the moment about this. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/suspect-package-at-hms-nelson-in-portsmouth-1-5261714#.Udq9KgPg-FY.twitter

BBC News Whilst we went over the statistics and the EHRC's flawed logic when it comes to the correlation between searches and crime rates in another thread, the public consultation is new as is the suggestion that we shouldn't waste time carrying out "unnecessary stops" and logging details afterwards. The question is how you define an unnecessary stop.

I see a report that the neighbours of his family are going to refuse to pay their Community Tax if the council don't evict them, nearly everyone in the road has signed a petition to get them removed. HMG wasted about £6000 pounds hiring a private jet to fly him to Jordan, when they could have put him on Jordanian Airways Flight 112 for a sixth of the price. If Jordan wanted him so badly why did they send …

Watching the bloodless coup taking place in Egypt "live" on Sky News, I am pondering whether British (& many other politicians) will be taking note that a country's population can effectively remove an elected Government if they do not perform? Of course, in Egypt's case, it is the military combined with the top Moslem and Christian clerics who have engineered this change and will oversee the transition to another set of elections within a short time. In UK's case, the military would not intervene in politics but we do have a Head of State who is above politics and who can sack a Government ...............

All it needs is a lightbar on the roof and a siren. This isn't my normal type of patrol vehicle, but I am willing to drive it if there's anywhere to fit 6 cones, a broom, shovel, traffic signs...
