NFA? It was only yesterday I saw an article in the newspaper with the Chief of Police for Cumbria Constabulary criticising the ambulance service for failing to respond quick enough resulting in police officers "being forced" to convey victims to hospital in patrol cars! Absolutely stupid decision at face value.

In this shocking footage, the doorman is seen to grab the young man with both hands before lifting him into the air and hurling him to the pavement on Newgate Street in Newcastle City Centre. The man, who appeared to have approached the doorman immediately beforehand, then lies still as a passer by calls out: "There was nee need for that, like." The confrontation at approximately 1am on Friday September 27 is captured in a 37 second long clip entitled "Geordie fight with a bouncer" uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday October 9. In the clip, a young man in a blue shirt is seen to approach the doorman, who is stood by the Newgate Street entrance to Idols. The young man lif…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24742348 Interestingly they surveyed 12,500 officers and 68% of federation members are dissatisfied with how their interests are being looked after at a national level. That number dropped to 47% at a local level. The Police Federation said "clearly the initial findings are worrying and raise a number of issues for consideration and further debate within the organisation". Perhaps the 68% of those surveyed re national issues voted that way due to the ballot. But that is another thread.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24583946 - suprising what the threat of a strike can do. I wonder what would happen if the police could go on strike over pay and pensions, I bet HMG would be 'round the table' in hours.

Police are being called out thousands of times a year to deal with dementia patients, including incidents where care home or hospital staff had become unable to cope (file picture) Police are being called out thousands of times a year to deal with dementia patients, an investigation has found. One chief constable said his officers had become an ‘extension of social services’ as a result of the crisis in dementia care. Most incidents involved patients who had gone missing but call-outs also included incidents where care home or hospital staff had become unable to cope. Sussex Police attended 1,800 incidents last year concerning vulnerable patients in hospitals and car…

http://www.channel4.com/news/tory-mp-calls-for-vaz-to-step-down-during-fnancial-probe - Agree completely, hardly the right person to be Chair of the Home Affairs Committee with his past lack of integrity. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-22145/Keith-Vaz-owns-homes.html Kirsty Wark (& Boris) Exposes Keith Vaz's Vacuous Ignorance I've always found Keith Vaz to be one of the most odious members of the House of Commons. Time and gain he has deserved to get his comeuppance. Yesterday, he did. Twice. First of all Boris Johnson exposed him for abusing his position as Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee by giving details of a private conve…

The guy who pleaded guilty to the damage to the Bomber Command memorial in Central London is due to be sentenced today. The judge has warned him that he could be given a custodial sentence. I hope so, it was a truly disgusting thing to do (and that's an understatement). Having said that, many moons ago now, I was involved in the arrest of a guy who urinated and then took flowers from the Yvonne Fletcher memorial in St, James Square in Central London. If my memory serves me well, all he was given was I think, six weeks, six weeks ffs. for committing such a despicable act. Again I will say I hope this recent guy gets the book thrown at him.
