    A 15-year-old girl was held by Northamptonshire Police for 26 hours A 15-year-old "vulnerable girl" was kept in police protection for more than 26 hours because no suitable accommodation could be found for her. Sgt Sam Dobbs, of Northamptonshire Police, posted messages on Twitter about how officers had to keep the teenager fed and "entertained". He said the girl was eventually collected by social services in London. Northamptonshire Police said there was a "considerable" delay in finding secure accommodation for the girl. About a week ago a "serial con man" was found guilty of various frauds after posing as a Formula 1 boss. His name: Stuart Howatson aka "Trojan" of ps.com fame. Daily Fail article.

    Leon Briggs died in hospital after becoming ill at Luton police station Five Bedfordshire Police officers could face criminal charges over the death of a man in custody, the police watchdog has said.     Police are warning shop staff in Fife to be aware of a fake notes scam involving children. Children aged between 11 and 15 have been used to buy low-value items in shops with forged £50 notes. They are then given genuine currency in change, leaving the businesses out of pocket. The problem was reported at the beginning of last month. Four stores in Auchtermuchty, Cupar and St Andrews have been targeted in the past few days. Since the beginning of February, there have been seven reports of fake notes being used at shops in north east Fife.     The crash happened at the junction of Dunchurch Road and Overslade Lane A woman has suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a police car in Rugby. The pedestrian, in her 20s, was struck on the Dunchurch Road at 12:20 GMT, police said. The car that hit her was being driven on a 999 callout to the A45 at Stretton-on-Dunsmore.
