Police say Tony Hanley shot himself in Bridge Road, Wallington The death of a Met Police employee who shot himself in a London street is to be investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). Tony Hanley killed himself in Bridge Road, Wallington, on 30 January after officers were called to a reports of a man armed with a firearm who was threatening to harm himself and others. The 51-year-old died in spite of baton rounds and a Taser being discharged. The IPCC said it was looking at the sequence of events up to his death. Jailed: Commander Ali Dizaei More than half of the 685 Met police officers convicted of criminal offences in the past 10 years still work for the force, figures reveal today. The majority of the convictions are for relatively minor traffic offences but others include crimes of violence, sexual assault and theft. Mohammad Arshad, 35, groomed numerous underage girls over the Internet, cruised around Luton with them in his black Mercedes and persuaded to have sexual activity with him, it was alleged.
