A young driving offender has been told he faces the prospect of a jail shower "with the gorillas in the mist" if he continues to break the law. Sydney Magistrate Brian Maloney gave 19-year-old Cody Heap a stark warning about jail life in an attempt to scare the youth into good behaviour. "You'll find big, ugly, hairy, strong men (in jail) who've got faces only a mother could love that will pay a lot of attention to you - and your anatomy," the magistrate said. From 5 January 2009, an 18-month trial will allow motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and tricycles - but not those with sidecars - to travel in most red route bus lanes. Drivers of these vehicles will be able to use red route bus lanes currently used by cyclists and taxi drivers during operational hours. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, delivers another manifesto pledge by introducing this trial, which will last a maximum of 18 months. It does not include bus lanes on borough roads. Sussex Police has been criticised for its decision to spend thousands of pounds on a massage service for call centre staff. The force has invited tenders for a three-year contract to provide head massages at its bases in Lewes, Brighton and Haywards Heath. Sussex Police Federation said the contract, reportedly worth up to £10,000, was "outrageous". But the force said it relieved stress and had been used since November 2005. It said the current three-year contract had come to an end. Sussex Police employs about 400 staff at its call centres. Nearly £60,000 seized from criminals will fight crime in Devon and Cornwall. The money allocated for Devon and Cornwall Police is part of £5.4m for forces across England and Wales. The money was recovered between July and September 2008 and compares with just over £3.7m paid out in the same quarter in the previous year. More than £33m of criminal assets were confiscated in the three months last year, half of which is to be shared between police, prosecutors and courts. Figures released under the Freedom Of Information Act reveal The Honey Club, in King's Road Arches, had the highest number of suspected ecstasy tablets confiscated from clubbers. Door staff's topped 1,078 of the suspected drugs getting into the club and handed them to Sussex Police. They also removed 176 sachets of powder and 104 plant extracts.
