http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/no...air-knife-crime Has crime really gone down, this mother speaks of intimidation, the way i felt in court sitting in the witness room, a room that could well do without a topic written on the door. I feel that more protection for witnesses would make life easier for the Police.

She underwent five hours of emergency surgery after passers-by found her in the park in Astley Village, Chorley. MI5 Discover Al-Qaeda Buying Ambulances on Ebay London—MI5 have warned Britain's cash-strapped National Health Services that dozens of ambulances–along with old police cars and fire engines past their sell-by date–are being snapped up by al-Qaeda operatives in the United Kingdom to mount suicide bomb attacks. So serious is the problem that counter-terrorism officials at the Home Office have written to eBay, the Internet auctioneer, asking them to stop selling emergency service vehicles, equipment and uniforms. But eBay has insisted it can only halt the sales if a new law is passed by Parliament. That could take many months to enact. The use of ambulances…

The men were arrested in the Whitechapel area of the city Thirteen British National Party (BNP) members arrested on suspicion of giving out racist material in Liverpool have been released without charge. The men were arrested by Merseyside police on 22 November after leaflets were distributed in the Whitechapel area of the city. A police spokeswoman said they were released after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Nick Griffin, BNP chairman, said the booklets were anti-racist in content. At least this attempt to subvert the political system by the police has failed.

Hi all, Article in the latest edition of The Railway Magazine, entitled Police perk 'worth 16 million pounds' states 'The Metropolitan Police is facing government pressure to end the perk that enables it's 31,000 officers to travel free on trains in the Home Counties, even if they are off duty. The idea is to cut crime, but TOC's(Train Operating Companies)say it will cost them 16 million in lost revenue in 2008/2009. Just wondered what the officers in the MET have been told about this and, if the privilege is taken away, would there be a bit of a stink over it?
