Sometimes I think we don't half shoot ourselves in the foot. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...HAIRDRYERS.html I know it's not as big a deal as the Daily Wail is making out, but have we really done ourselves any favours invoking anti terror legislation on something that just doesn't warrant it?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8479845.stm Video on the link reporting. To add to the story - The video says that a British company is cashing in by manufacturing Stab vests. Ridiculous, really. If a mod could move this to "Real World" it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Source: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/art...lice-station.do A senior judge has attacked the “ethos of sexual banter and impropriety†at a London police station. Judge Michael Gledhill said he was shocked by the “torrid atmosphere†among young Police Community Support Officers at Belgravia. He also criticised the lack of supervision of the officers, employed to carry out anti-terror patrols in central London. The criticism comes nearly a year after an internal Scotland Yard investigation found evidence of racist bullying among PCSOs at the same station. The judge made the comments in the trial of John Parker, 19, of Orpington, who was accused of grabbin…

A haul of drugs and mobile phones was intercepted being smuggled into a top-security jail - hidden inside food cans. The baked beans and soup tins contained contraband which would be worth thousands of pounds inside HMP Frankland - which houses Soham monster Ian Huntley. It included heroin, cocaine, bricks of cannabis, amphetamines, Subutex painkillers, 13 mobiles, 24 SIM cards, phone charger cables - and three tins of neat alcohol. They were packed in a sealed prison bag delivered by courier and made to look as if they were for a lag who had been transferred from Manchester. But suspicious officers at Frankland, in Co Durham, X-rayed the package. An insider said "Of…

Greater Manchester Police has arrested more than 600 burglars, robbers and thieves in four days this week in its first major clampdown of the New Year. High impact enforcement activity on all divisions across the Force has seen officers making almost 100 raids on properties of suspected criminals. The crackdown is part of Operation Storm that was set up last June to support divisions in reducing burglaries and increasing convictions. The raids have also resulted in the arrest of a dozen drug dealers and the closure of four cannabis farms. Drugs with an estimated value well in excess of £50,000 have been recovered. To date when comparing figures from 1 April last ye…

A major murder hunt was underway today after the blood-covered 19-year-old woman was discovered sprawled on the towpath by a jogger at 8pm. Eye-witnesses said that she was lying face down and had suffered multiple stab wounds to her head and body. The contents of her handbag were strewn nearby. The jogger dialled 999 on his mobile phone and police and paramedics rushed to the scene beneath a road bridge alongside the River Kennet on the outskirts of Reading.
