Check this out http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/8460655.stm She was thankfully discharged later the same day but what kind of society is this we are seeing? Thankfully she's recovering and hopefully no permanent damage to her. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Interesting to see what will happen to the offender/s.

Chelsea's Ashley Cole has been banned from driving for four months after speeding at 104mph in a 50mph zone. The player, from Godalming, Surrey, was caught speeding in his Lamborghini on the A3 in Kingston, south-west London, just after midday on 17 November 2008. Cole, who claimed he was being chased by paparazzi, was also fined £1,000 after being found guilty on 4 January. Escaping the paparazzi can not be a defence for speeding, the prosecution told Kingston Magistrates' Court. The court heard that when stopped, Cole told police he was aware it was a 50mph zone and thought he was driving at 80mph but complained about a photographer following him. Cole's lawyer Ka…

Having worked (briefly) in a bank a few years ago, I'm very shocked that it took them so long to uncover what she was doing. You would have thought it would be spotted the very first time she did it, quite how she covered up nearly a million quid is beyond me.

Not directly Police related but I thought it may be of interest to those officers who share or use pool armour. Stockton Council pay-out over body armour injury A Teesside community enforcement officer who suffered a shoulder injury as a result of second-hand body armour has been awarded a £2,000 pay-out. Anthony Roach was issued with an ill-fitting stab vest while investigating complaints in potentially dangerous situations for Stockton Council. Middlesbrough County Court ordered the council to pay compensation and legal costs of more than £50,000. The council said it would challenge the legal costs awarded against it. Mr Roach, from Eaglescliffe, was given …

A boy of 13 who overpowered a woman then raped her in front of his two friends will spend just three years locked away for his crimes. Balal Khan - thought to be one of the youngest convicted rapists in Britain - targeted the 20-year-old as she walked home. He subjected her to a severe beating then screamed at her 'Do what I say or I'll kill you', before putting her through the ordeal of a terrifying sex attack. Then he stole her bag and phone and even took a call from his victim's boyfriend to whom he bragged about what he had done. But after pleading guilty to charges of rape and robbery the teenager was sentenced to just three years because of his age - and because…

A fraudster who deceived businesses into backing a bogus anti-drugs campaign has been jailed for four and a half years. Peter Kemp was charged, along with three other men, following an investigation into the fraud, which was worth at least £700,000, by Staffordshire Police's Economic Crime Unit and Stoke-on-Trent City Council Trading Standards officers. The 45-year-old, of Ack Lane East, Bramhall, Cheshire, led the conspiracy which involved setting up bogus publishing businesses that purported to produce leaflets for schoolchildren that warned against the evils of illegal drugs. Remind me of the Sir Alan Sugar quote : " I was a trainee Bugler in the Stamford Hill Division!!! " A group of Jewish volunteers who have set up their own patrols in north London are putting themselves at risk, police have said. Shomrim (Hebrew for security) Stamford Hill Safety and Rescue Patrol (SHSRP) scout the streets 24 hours a day assisting the community. "We are the eyes and ears of the police," said Isaac Kornbluh. But a statement from the Metropolitan Police said that members were endangering themselves. Shomrim SHSRP was set-up in 2005 after several attacks and robberies took place in the streets of Stamford Hill in north London. The 22 volunteers - who wear n…
