http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/8578622.stm All foot patrols recalled to station and everyone into ballastic flak jackets again last night and I'm 40 odd miles away. Glad everyone involved last night is OK - but it's only a matter of time... Again - attempted murder of police officers by terrorists with automatic weapons bearly makes the news.

They are currently on bail pending the outcome of the probe. Last night a police source said: "On the face of it these three have risked everything, salaries of 40 grand, pensions and maybe jail for a couple of hundred quid…

TWO dangerous dogs have been seized by police after officers swooped on housing estates in Chelsea. In the last few weeks officers from the Cremorne Safer Neighbourhood Team have seized two Pit Bulls from two separate estates and both dogs were believed to be related. The first dog was seized by the Metropolitan Police Status Dog Unit from the King's Road Estate, Guinness Trust, after a warrant was obtained from West London Magistrate's Court. The second Pit Bull was seized from the World's End Estate shortly afterwards. In both cases officers reacted after receiving information from the local community. A team of pickpockets who targeted an elderly lady and other passengers on a busy bus in Shepherd's Bush have been put behind bars. The gang of four were followed by an undercover police squad as they boarded the bendy 207, and were watched as they kept swapping seats and moving around the bus. Glowacki, 27, of Ilford in Essex, was sentenced to six months in prison for theft and another six months for breaching a court order. Muggers lying in wait for BBC staff in White City are regularly trying to use a road on a neighbouring estate to escape - without realising it's a dead-end. Neighbours in White City Close have reported several incidents of thieves running down their road with BBC-branded bags, believed to contain laptops, only to then have to dump them as they realise they are blocked off by an 8ft high wall One concerned neighbour said: "When they realise there's no escape they just sling what they've nicked in the road. I've seen branded BBC bags, I've even seen a postman's bag. One of them even asked me not to tell the police I'd seen him before jumping over the wall. "Muggings arou…

This Fulham man faces jail for being part of a 12-man drugs ring that smuggled a record-breaking £62m worth of potent skunk cannabis into Britain. Peter Moran, of Fulham Palace Road, admitted his part in the lucrative operation, which was importing 250 kilograms of the drug worth £750,000 every week under the guise it was importing flowers, and will be sentenced at a later date. Officers seized 900kg of the substance - equivalent to 225,000 small street deals - and recovered around £500,000 in cash. However, that was just a small fraction of the quantities the network handled. The gang, led by Kingston man Terrence Bowler, were caught in December 2008 after a 14-mon…

Terrified mothers fear knife crime in and around a Fulham estate is out of control after two more people - including a boy of 13 - were stabbed last week. The boy was knifed in the buttocks in North End Crescent on Saturday at about 10.30pm after being set upon by a gang of balaclava-clad thugs. He was taken to Chelsea and Westminster hospital where he was also treated for cuts and bruising to his head, and later released. Three men were arrested and bailed to return to police in July. Detectives are linking the crime to a stabbing two days earlier in Rylston Road on the Clem Attlee Estate, where a 16-year-old was knifed in the head and arm at about 3pm. He was later di…
