Source Huddersfield Examiner A THIEF picked the wrong moment to rob a shop worker – when an off-duty special constable was standing outside. The special, who does not want to be identified, had finished shopping at Sainsbury’s on Acre Street in Lindley when he noticed a man acting suspiciously outside. The man went into the shop, threatened an 18-year-old staff member and stole £200 from the till before leaving. My link It is the usual daily mail, police bashing story. But to me something doesnt quite sit right with the story. I fond it really hard to believe, two officers could / did sit there and do nothing.

The older generation are always grumbling about the youth of today - but it seems they may have a point. One in four teenagers thinks it is acceptable to cheat in exams, new research suggests, and many see no harm in shoplifting or fare dodging on public transport. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1388589/Cheating-exams-shoplifting-dodging-fares-What-quarter-teenagers-think-acceptable-behaviour.html#ixzz1MnfgpQl3 Oh, only 25% i`m surprised. https://www.metfed.org.uk/support/uploads/1306316548Open%20letter%20to%20Sir%20Hugh%20Orde.pdf An interesting read, though im not sure that attempting to shame someone who has power but is not elected by anoyone other than others in power is going to be effective. Acpo should be the flagship of the police, an anti ipcc which jumps up and down shouting about how great we are and what we need to have to get the job done. But then again thats what the federation should be doing as well.

Bluelight Training and Coaching Services Ltd has produced an online revision tool for Special Constables completing their initial training with the Metropolitan Police. A similar course is in development for Special Constables studying with other forces. The course covers everything which is in the Met's own "white notes" - training materials provided to Specials. BTACS have obtained these materials through Freedom of Information requests, so in theory you can be certain you are studying the right material. They help students prepare for the infamous "KEE" tests - the Knowledge Evaluation Exercise, actually a written multi-choice exam. The Met's study process includ…
