Hello all, Just looking at this part of the forum it doesn't appear to get very much traffic. However, any replies are appreciated. As the topic title says; I'm transferring! EDIT: (IF I HAD ACTUALLY SPELT IT RIGHT!) I'm a Leicester boy originally but have lived in Leeds for a few years now and joined West Yorkshire Special Constabulary. I spoke to HR a week ago and they said that they are taking transferee SCs (I think it's disgusting some forces won't . . .) I'm waiting to hear back with regards to the process but I should imagine it'll take forever. Does anyone know any transferees and roughly how long the process took, and what things you have to do? Just a quick post say say a HUGE well done to the cohort who have ALL passed their OPT assessment last week, their exam on Saturday and their Assessment on Sunday. Also a massive thank you and thumbs up for our great tutor and the OPT training team. Now the learning really begins.

I've got my Special Constable assessment on the 14th September? Any tips? This would of been my second shot at this due to the fact that I merely missed out by like 15% on my first attempt. I'm not nervous at all, I'm just slightly worried because I'm doing a Policing course at DMU and I need to be a special to actually do the course - so there's a lot at stake here. I've got my comptency interview answers almost to the nutt. All I need to do is to think of some situations so that I can score high marks on the "Working with others" comptentency, but I can't really think of anything. Does anybody know if it has SNT or if it is only Response there and also what are the number of police officers like there, as a reg would you be single crewed a lot or mainly double crewed. just curious, thanks Guys!.

Just a general query really. I noticed that the force is advertising the role of DO at the moment. Is it possible to apply for that position whilst you are a special? I vaguely remember something about it being a conflict of interest, unless the CC authorises it? I don't think I would go for it now anyway because of my university commitments and the position being full time, but when I saw the advert I was tempted for a little while

Amongst the small rainforest that arrived in the post the other day (with my collar number :D) was a form to join Sports & Leisure. Does anyone know what I'll get for my £30 and is it worth it? Also how do specials pay for the lottery as it only mentions deductions from salary?

Leicestershire's PCC, Sir Clive Loader has said in his 2013-2017 Police and Crime plan: So it appears that Leicestershire may well be relying more and more upon Specials, or it at least seems that Sir Clive sees this as a viable option.
