In order to inject some life into the Lancs area of the forum (heaven knows it needs it) I have decided to start this topic, so: Which is the best Division in Lancs and why? Who knows, the replies in this could lead to interesting discussion and further topics , or no-one could reply and it will just wither and die... So invite your friends/colleagues and maybe we can get the Lancs forum going again.

Shamelessly ripping off a thread I saw on the forum at some point (but changing it enough to pass it off as my own idea); if you had the power to change 2 things about the Special Constabulary in Lancs... What would they be? I'll start I suppose: 1) Return to the old (pre 2011) expenses/subsistence allowances, but enforce them more strictly to stop people abusing it. 2) Lift the driving restrictions imposed on specials to allow them to return to driving a 4x4, van, on blue lights etc. Although there are many others, I think these would be my top 2...

For those of you who were at the training weekend that I attended this weekend at your HQ, thank you all for the very warm welcome. I was made to feel very welcome - even as a scruffy Met officer I thought the centre and the facilities were great, your catering staff certainly made sure we didn't go hungry and loved the social events too. Especally the Bingo!! Oh and the course was good too! Best Steve

Morning, I was speaking to my SS other night and it got round to secondments to some specialised parts of the force. e.g. Dogs/Traffic Has anyone had any experience with this and what were your thoughts? In particular if anyone has had the chance to go with the dogs I'd be interested to hear if it was valuable or if you felt slightly like a spare part! Cheers,

Hello everyone, Right, so I went to my assessment day last week, at Preston headquarters, and have now been invited to an interview on the 15th of February. Is there anyone else on here that has been invited for an interview on that date, or who has recently had an interview???... Im really nervous. I know they will be speaking about the "core competencies", but how do they go about asking the questions??...How is the day structured???...And are the interviews really challenging??... Hi members, A quick question. I am considering applying but I am put off by the following issue: On the plus side, I have completed the PCI degree On the down side, I had 1 speeding 3ppts about 15 years ago, 1 without due care and bald tyre about 24 years ago. Now given that I am not what you would call a squeaky clean applicant, is it worth applying or will recruitment probably just look for the candidate who has no previous at all. I know nobody can comment for sure, but have other successful candidates been successful with a record similar or worse?
