So just completed my first shift today Was in for the brief, then off out in the car for a crusie and local patrol of known trouble "hot spots". Then received a call to head on back to the nick to interview two suspects Here I had to go retreive the suspect from the cells, and bring them to the interview room, sit in on the interview and return them back Really happy with the first day, was nervous at first then settled in as the reg I was teamed with taught me alot

Intake 1 of the year for lancs specials had there attestation today. Must admit it feels rather darn good :D couldnt have done it without my fellow officers, trainers, and of course the Role players, who were VERY convincing. Question is now, when to book the anticipated first shift eek. Excited andScared : )

Just a question regarding driving within the police, mainly specials. As i currently hold a Full car and Motercycle Driving licence (A). I know specials can take the response course, however any specials on Motercycle Police Courses or if you have the time to take the course would it be available for specials. Secondly with all purpose police vehicles, if you complete D1 Driving Licence would you be able to drive all the police vans (Riot Van, Standard Van and so on ) or would you need a special © van licence for it ? Are specials trained to drive vans? Once you are in and finish training, how long does it usually take before specials can start police vehicles trainin…

Anyone from Lancashire who can help me set up a ride along? Do you even do such a thing? I'm a serving Deputy in the US. Originally from the Leigh area. Coming back late June. Hello! Is there anybody currently studying at UCLAN that would be willing to spare 10 minutes to fill in a questionnaire for me? It's for my disseration and I need around 30/40 more people to fill one in (I'm not expecting there to be that many people on here haha). I'll be at the uni 6-8pm tonight and Thursday, but can e-mail a copy over if that's easier :lol: any help you can give would be fab! I have recently filled in an application form - what is the maximum number of days and occasions you can have in 3 years? does anyone know also.... is it 3 years eg if i applied in November 2010. Would i go back 2010 2009 2008 or... November 10-November 09 (1 year), November 09-November 08 (2 years), November 08-November 07 (3year) I am a little unsure Thank you

I really like working as a special constable and it is not something I want to give up. However, I am hoping to go on a world trip in october which will take about 7 months. Basically what I want to know is will my position be kept open? I appreciate that I will have to go on defensive tactics refersher course and possibly a few others. I do not want to have to resign and then re-apply at a latter date. Any help is much appreciated. millskid
