Lancashire Constabulary

I would like to say good luck to all 500 internal applicants who are trying to get the 50 internal PC positions this month, hopefully the next recruitment campaign will involve external candidates. Duke

Well, just had a phone call from HR and my file has been cleared... I am on the September intake starting on the 2nd September. Anyone else on here going to be on this intake?

I tried ringing lancashire HQ yesterday 3 times no answer, and today... The answer machines were on both telephone numbers i tried ringing. Does anyone know what is happening? I have been waiting 2 weeks for my letter to confirm medical and not yet recieved anything. Confused

Could one of you helpful Lancs lads and lasses provide me with the details of the Lancs Special Constabulary CO please? I need: Name + Rank Postal Address Many Thanks!

Newbie here, I am wanting to join the Chorley (North West) Division, How long did it take to complete your whole application process?? And, like in the Army, can you pick up skills to like learning how to drive?

Just wondering how many PS.com members have decided to apply on this internal only opportunity. The poll is totally anonymous and there is no expectation for you to add a reply, I understand you may not want others to know. Visitors to the Lancs area, whilst more than welcome here please don't add to the poll, it'll skew the results. I've obviously voted no, I'm too old and wise now to want to join full time.

Part of this is force specific but part can be considered recruitment orrientated so mods may wish to move this. Firstly i have been accepted for the september intake, i have found out my attestation is the sunday of my Mod 2 weekend, but what i don't know is when do i get issued my kit and also after i have been attested there is still a first aid weekend to do but can i go out on my first shift before i have completed the first aid day? The second question is i have recently found out about the PLC (Police Law and Community) course, and im wondering how beneficial this would be for helping with an application to the regulars when they begin recruiting? Bearing in mind…

Hi All, I'm going to be a pain in the behind and post again! Are there any courses you have attended that have been particulaly enjoyable/useful in their work within Lancashire? If you could go on any course, what would you fancy!? Boredom at work has prompted this topic!

Hi All, I know there are various threads scattered around with the issued Uniform for specials in various forces, but was wondering if anyone had a list of what equipment and what uniform is issued to new SC's? Is there any other gear thats not provided that you find you need to use on a regular basis? Also thought it would be nice to get the Lancs forum going a bit!!! Cheers,

Well done to those 211 Specials involved in providing the support to regular officers! Keep up the good work!

Statement from Lancashire Constabulary: Stay safe out there guys... Lets hope this can be ended promptly and doesn't start up in Lancs!

I want to say well done to all the Special Constables who participated in Nightsafe last night. We rose to the challenge and took responsibility over the entirety of Preston City Centre. Some brilliant arrests were made and a lot of early interventions took place. It was a pleasure taking place in this unprecedented event. This kind of work shows what the Special Constabulary are capable of. Sadly, I am moving on to pastures new and will be joining the BTP as a Special. I'll be stationed at Lancaster, so please feel free to pop in and say hello! It was great to end on a high note and I wish you all luck in the future!

Hi, Ive no criminal convictions, non of my family do either, Ive got a clean driving licence etc etc Im just wondering if there are any part of the checks that are known to delay it going through? I have lived at a different address for 2 years, but this was only uni halls of residence so wouldnt have thought they would have trouble checking up on that? Cheers

I missed the training on how to use duty sheet, however i have since been sent some information on how to access my page. Anyway, when I was going through the user manual it said in some forces you will be able to fill out your PDP through duty sheet. However this is not a option on my log in, is this just a fault with mine? or is Lancashire still sticking with the paper PDP? I really think it would be beneficially to put the PDP on the duty sheet home page, I think it would motivate people even more to become independent.

Hi All: I have just received the news we all fear. Lancashire regret to inform you that we will no longer be progressing your application along with other candidate's. Well gutted seeing as I applied in August 2008 and was only waiting on vetting. I'm defo not re-applying. It was a waste of time and two years of my life I wont get back!! Anyone else in the same boat? If not watch this space. I was put on hold by Lancashire in October 2009 and now they tell me!! Just shocking. Rotty
