I heard a rumour last week that some GMP Specials have just undertaken an overseas visit. Florida was mentioned. Anybody know anything about it..... and if so how did it go ?

Hi all, I have just came across this pic: It is a Greater Manchester Police motorcycle, in London, with amber lights. And another strange thing is, I done a reg check on http://mycarcheck.com and it says that no such vehicle exists. Does anybody know what this vehicle is used for, or what it was used for (if mycarcheck is correct) thanks jon EDIT: just checked on autotrader and that says that no such vehicle exists too

Does anyone know any good gyms in Manchester ? I want to go over the next month to make sure that i pass the fitness test (and loose a bit of weight ) I only want to join for a month really and could do with one that's open late and has a pool as well ... i dont ask for much i know ;-)

Hi all, A friend of mine who is a response bobby on the N Division of GMP would like a shift swap to another division ideally the A or B Division although he did say he would consider other divisions as long as they weren't too far away from home. If anyone on response in GMP fancies this can you either reply on this thread or send me a private message. All details will be kept confidential obviously. Ta.

What on Earth prompts police officers to join such groups as this? http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=43051377375&ref=nf A group for 'GMP A division'. This is complete madness! The Y will be all over that without a doubt, but what about other people who are keen to find cops? I really do wonder about people at times........

At the end of the compenency questions for the online specials application, there's a section for your prefered division. One of the options is "Traffic Network". Would I be correct in assuming this would involve working within the RPU? Last time I heard GMP only had a handful of RPU specials. Are they no recruting directly to RPU, or would this be a wasted choice if I was to select it?

Last year i applied for the PCSO's unfortunately I failed at the final interview stage I needed more life experiences. I had wanted to apply again this year but now with the freeze it's looking like a long wait. I thought about joining as a special and have the form here but i'm just wondering as you have to go through the same process am I going to get told the same thing even though this would be experience Or should I do other volunteer work to gain experience as I have interview to volunteer at local hospital next month which I was going to do aswell as apply to specials. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
