Hi, Ian. Its good to see you back today. Trust you have not been away courtesy of HM! To all the newcomers during the last few days, Ian is the genius of technology around here. So much so that I am going to ask your advice Ian, as I know nowt about IT. My laptop is currently within cable distance of my one and only phone socket. Which, for reasons only the previous occupants of this hovel know, is located upstairs. I want to go wireless. Can you please advise me how I do this? Thanking you in anticipation of a carefullt crafted, dummy proof, response. Regards.

Hi all (probably Ian I'm guessing, as you appear to be the computer whizz!!) I can't find a single photo on my entire computer that's under 50kb... any guesses how I could do it? Maybe crop one? Would that work? I'm terrible with computers, so any advice much appreciated!!

I'm 17 and am interested in joining the police in a few years, after college and uni etc, but am wondering whether it's really a wise choice, because i have a strong interest in acting as well and I've been doing it for years, i won't bore you with my acting history and education, but i'm really at crossroads here, is becoming a police officer foolish when you're other choice could land you in Hollywood earning milions a year and acting in some of the biggest films made? (Rare i know, but still) Because (and no disrespect to any of the serving officers here) going down the 'Police Route' seems like something that's set in stone, it's pretty much just one job every day an…

Are there any budding designers out there who can design a business-like card for this site? It doesn't need to have a lot on it, obviously the website address, I'll leave the rest to your imagination. By the way Ian C, your wallpapers were great(hint, hint)!

hi folks. feel free to ignore this post , it's almost me just thinking aloud , but its something i've been wondering for a bit now. its police related. i live in scotland, failed my application process last yera, nothing bad, just a few too many daft errors on my part. anyway, i have been emailing various forces all over britain and found that a LOT of english forces only ask you to wait 6 months if you fail, whereas in scotland it seems to be 12 months. a year! i plan on applying again for a scottish force this year, but have decided that should i fail again (god...) instead of waiting around for ANOTHER year, i'd like to move to england and work for the police there.…

Your patrolling a busy city/town centre with your crew mate. You get called to a disturbance in a pub. On arrival the situation is now calm with other officers already present. Your given the task of getting a statement from the main suspect. The suspect starts gesturing as if to claim he is deaf/mute. You know this is an act because you recognise him from last weekend as he called one of your colleagues a naughty word. How do you deal with this? *Disclaimer* This is a situation i saw on a police docu-series following the old bill in Cardiff. Just curious to how you guys and gals would go about it*

I'll cut straight to the chase..... Bloke leaves his house. He sees you, looks shocked and immediately feels into his coat pocket and walks away. You stop/search him and find drugs. S.32 states you can search where he was immediately before arrest, but there is a stated case saying that you CANNOT enter this house to search under s.32........ A S.18 could be applied, but why would s.32 not apply?

I continuesly get this icon on bottom right of the screen, telling me my computer needs a clean up, and it is to full, it has 83GB free space. When one clicks on it, it opens as thou you have right clicked on C drive and use the tools bottons in there. In short how can one stop this item popping up at start up? I have tried msconfig, it isn`t there, or it`s useing another process. It isn`t damaging, it just niggles, can anyone please help? I thank you.
