Find it surreal that the sheriff actually remanded 5 people who didnt turn up for a trial during the previous week, untill the trial is finished... And as stated 5 from a trial today..! Some of the excuses are terrible... Its a one off duty/event surely you should plan ahead and get the early bus / arrange childcare blah blah.

Police officers chasing speeding criminals are too frightened to put their foot down for fear of being prosecuted for dangerous driving. Yesterday the Police Federation said hundreds of officers around the country were worried about undertaking high speed pursuits due to the risk of them being hauled before the courts.
