Best wishes for a speedy recovery to 14 year old Malala Yusufzai who was shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for education for girls. I don't begrudge a penny of my taxes spent on her treatment.

With the dogged pursuit of Al Capone serving as his inspiration, life for criminals on the patch of Britain’s newest Chief Constable just got a whole lot more uncomfortable. And Mike Barton has warned he will employ the same strong-arm tactics US cops used to finally nail the notorious gangster after his reign of terror in the 20s. The 55-year-old has vowed to “get in the faces” of known crooks before they can break the law again. And if he can’t nail them for the big crimes, he’ll make sure they are nicked for lesser ones to get them off the streets – in the same way American police put Capone behind bars for tax evasion after failing to get him on other charges suc…

http://www.dailymail...ons-pounds.html Lets see how much of a 'hue and cry' MP's make over this, They certainly will not vote for it, I bet they will find some excuse for not changing the system. Better mention Police Pensions to them and see if they react. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9607945/MPs-to-give-up-gold-plated-pensions-in-return-for-higher-salaries.html

http://www.thisissou...tail/story.html Profoundly Sorry for her actions and apologises to the police for adding to their difficult workload!? Really? Should have thought about the difficult workload first! It was on the news earlier that she has announced that she is suffering from depression... well that shouldn't make a difference; if you are depressed and a drink driver, does that really make you suitable for the difficult work of government?

http://menmedia.co.u...tody-walks-free http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa-HQIDQ5E4 Slightly clearer video/report: http://www.itv.com/n...ter-misconduct/ The officer may have slightly lost his temper but the punishment he's received seems way out of proportion to me. I don't think he deserved to lose his job or be prosecuted.

Householders who over-react when confronted by burglars are to get more protection in law, Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has said. "Grossly disproportionate" force will still be against the law, but the bar will be set higher than the current "proportionate" force test. He will also tell the Tory party conference all community sentences should have a punitive element. Prime Minister David Cameron said it would give people "certainty". Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Mr Cameron said: "This is something that bothers people, and quite frankly it bothers me. "There has been uncertainty that if a burglar comes into your home, people aren't sure about what they are and are n…
