A POLICE officer who repeatedly kneed an epileptic prisoner on the head and scarred him for life has been cleared of assault. Constable Peter Cullen, 32, was hugged by relatives and colleagues after a jury found him not guilty by a majority verdict. William Cree, 25, was rushed to hospital after collapsing with a head injury that police claimed was caused by running into a door. PC Cullen insisted his actions were in self-defence as he feared Mr Cree was about to bite him while being pinned down. He had denied assaulting the 25-year-old to his injury and permanent disfigurement at Saltcoats police office in Ayrshire last November. Two officers saw PC Cullen's knee mo…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2211201/Mother-jailed-smacking-children-freed-judge-says-actions-worse-loving-parents.html At last we are getting some intelligent judgements from the High Court. Judge Wynn should be demoted, or give re-training, the woman should never have been sent to prison. The reason we have so much trouble with youths is because of lack of discipline, a few more smacks around the ears might do some good.

Surely all that old kit should have been removed before handing it over - it doesn't look like 'storage' to me, it just looks like the normal junk left lying around in a police station

Police officers wearing T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan 'PC Pleb' staged a demonstration today outside the office of Tory chief whip Andrew Mitchell, as the storm of criticism surrounding his foul-mouthed Downing Street rant refused to die down. A police log of Mr Mitchell's shocking outburst states that he called officers 'f****** plebs' after losing his temper when a Met officer told him to use the side gate to leave Downing Street, rather than the main gate reserved for ministerial cars. Today more than a dozen police officers gathered outside the MP's constituency office in Sutton Coldfield to protest after the chief whip continued to deny using the politically d…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2208972/A-licence-shoot-burglars-Its-chance-judge-tells-raiders-fired-homeowners-isolated-cottage.html They should have got a lot more than 4 years. I love the comment by the Judge regarding the fact that because he was shot it should lead to him getting a lighter sentence, the Judge made it clear that it would make no difference. Both accused were out on licence at the time, so they are persistant offenders who got what they deserved. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9569359/Expect-to-be-shot-if-you-burgle-gun-owners-judge-warns-criminals.html
