Serving prisoners have posted Facebook pictures of sunburned inmates relaxing while in jail and boasted that life inside is like being on a holiday resort. An image of prisoners at HMP Haverigg, near Millom, Cumbria, grinning broadly while posing in a group shot was uploaded to the social networking site despite a ban on mobile phones. The inmates brag about how they are enjoying their time at the jail. They have posted a string of 'jovial' remarks with Jay McKevitt posting: 'Waken up in the costa del haverigg 2 me halfa english brecky ha!' In a separate post he also remarked: 'Wat a day in sunny haverigg '. One comment posted in response to the picture on the social…

http://www.bbc.co.uk...uffolk-20066124 A former police constable in Suffolk has admitted collecting hundreds of rare wild bird eggs. Michael Upson, 52, from near Halesworth, had 649 eggs, including many from rare species, which were found at his home during a raid by police officers and investigators from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. I'll refrain from making any 'egg on face' jokes.

...Ladies and Gentlemen, the night of the long knives has begun. There is now an enquiry into how officers from different forces produced virtually identical statements during the minors strike. A concerted attack from every quarter is underway to discredit the police. The job has been accused of institutional racism in the past now it would appear there is institutional corruption within the job. Just look at the recent incidents with CC's and the like. It is sinister. If I was betting man I'd wager this is no coincedence.

The emergency services are not prepared for a Mumbai-style terror attack on the streets of Britain, a security minister is to warn. James Brokenshire will say Britain has to be ready for a terror attack "in whatever form it takes". That includes a fast-moving attack by a lone gunman of the kind seen in recent years in Oslo or Toulouse, he will add. Home Secretary Theresa May has asked the emergency services "to make further improvements to the joint response". In a speech to security experts at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) in central London, Mr Brokenshire will say changing tactics have allowed terrorists to "achieve a devastating effect using relatively…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-20019914 It's an offence to possess a firearm - or at least some firearms without a licence. Pretty much all handguns....... However. Ms. May has announced that they're going to introduce a law that says it's an offence to possess a firearm with intent to supply it to somebody else...................... Erm. Can somebody explain why we need that, when the existing legislation already makes it an offence to possess the weapon and so they could, for once, just enforce the maximum tariff for existing laws...............couldn't they??
