I had never heard of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) before. I wonder how many other agencies of this nature exist in the backwaters of the European (or even our own) Parliament. Does anyone else get that uneasy feeling that before long there will be no such thing as 'Personal' information as there will be so many different agencies and organisations with a 'right' of access it might as well be posted on a billboard somewhere

Does anyone else, while supporting same-sex marriage, find it very gratifying that it's causing so much in-fighting among our politicians?!

One of Britain's top ethnic minority police officers has accused chief constables of not understanding the need for more black and Asian recruits.Ch Supt Dal Babu told BBC News many of his colleagues just "don't get it". Ch Supt Babu, 49, who retires from the Metropolitan Police on Monday after 30 years' service, said "radical measures" were needed so police had a better understanding of different cultures. The Met said it had made "good progress" with ethnic recruitment. Greater Manchester Chief Constable Sir Peter Fahy said the obstacle to greater ethnic minority recruitment was the legal framework - not senior officers. In spite of targets to boost the number of …

for our fellow public sector workers in the NHS today. How many hard working, decent front line NHS workers throughout the UK are getting it in the neck because of the failings of a greedy, corporate regime in Staffordshire. I haven't seen too many people putting balance to the story, pointing out what good work the majority in the NHS do; sound familiar? It would be easy as a police officer to keep one's head down and think thank goodness it's somebody else in the public sector taking some heat instead of us but I believe that would be cowardly. My fear is that the government will simply use this like Hillsborough etc. on us, as a reason to attack pay and conditions for…

George Osborne has been dealt a major blow after the country’s leading public finance think-tank said he will need to borrow £64 billion more than he planned in 2015 because of the poor performance of the economy. It means that spending on services like the police, defence, transport and justice could be cut by a third by 2017/18 under current Government spending plans, the Institute for Fiscal Studies warned. The dire fiscal position may force the Chancellor to raid pensioner benefits, the NHS, schools or overseas aid, hitherto protected from cuts, according to the IFS report. It will pile pressure on the Chancellor, who last week faced rumours of a plot by Tory backben…

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9851104/Mid-Staffs-report-the-key-figures-in-the-scandal.html Of all the people who worked in this hospital, so far, only one nurse has been suspended, and one doctor put on restricted duties. The Telegraph article clearly shows those that were in charge, but failed in their jobs. Cynthis Bower, on £203,500 a years was allowed to resign and go to another job paying nearly £100,000 a year, seems that if you fail you are entitled to go straight into another well paid job. That Midget Any Burnham started it off giving the usual excuse of most MP and Ministers when thjings go wrong, ''I was acting on advice given to me''. N…
