CI Heather Keating and the rape apologism that probably wasn’tReflection is a beautiful thing. Reconsidering your position on a subject or debate before publishing your thoughts can often help avoid the embarrassment of saying something stupid, assumptive, or not well thought through. Unfortunately channels of communication such as Twitter and Facebook and the speedy way in which you can say something, or respond to things you see being reported or said means that it’s rare that someone really considers what they’re writing before hitting the ‘Tweet’ button. Not only that, but the 140 character limit means that often people are not able to use as many words as they’d like…

Just when you thought things could get any dafter (!) - surely this should all have been sorted out before they started building. The Natural England website states So its not as though this was a surprise. With the way finances are now can we really afford £2,000 a day to be wasted in this way

I am sure there has got to be more to this than reported here... Was this reported somewhere else before it went to court or before judgement was passed? Source: BBC News Edit: Updated the article content (14 March 2012 Last updated at 14:01)

Sir Ian apologises for £4m probe Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair has apologised for an internal inquiry which he said caused "considerable damage" within the force. The £4m corruption probe into the behaviour of one of Britain's most senior Asian officers created a rift with black officers, he said. In 2001 Ch Supt Ali Dizaei was accused of fiddling his expenses and suggesting other officers had damaged his vehicle. Mr Dizaei was cleared of the charges by the Old Bailey in 2003. 'Mistakes not repeated' Sir Ian's apology came after the force and the Black Police Association agreed to resolve disputes resulting from Operation Helios. In a let…

RANT WARNING - RANT WARNING - RANT WARNING http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21429171 Now then. We already have a process where, if we happen to get a 'gift', we have to let Professional Standards know....... So we're now going to publish that are we? Righto. That won't help to eradicate corruption. Well, ok, it'll reduce corruption as much as removing the toilet from my house will stop me defacating. If you received a gift and didn't tell anybody about it, then having your force publishing a list of 'gifts' is still not going to include the 'gift' you kept quiet about................ I tell you what might 'restore public confidence' in the police..............how abo…

http://www.policeora...0929.html - Here we go again, I thought we were all supposed to be in this together, but apparently NOT. The new CC of Dorset, Miss Piggy Simpson, has been given a £13,000 pay rise by the PCC, Underhill, If she had any integrity she would turn it down and tell Underhill, we are supposed to be' all in this together', and accepting a 13k pay rise would be setting a poor example. Dorset is a very small force and the salary for the CC's job was commensurate with the responsibility she will have. Underhills talk of not getting sufficient candidates is a pure Red Herring, people would apply for the job even if the salary was only 90K, there is a…
