A policeman recently had to spend a night in a police box. Former soldier Christopher Kingswood was unable to get home after his shift helping motorists manoeuvre their way out of the snow on the A259 and A27. © PA Images / Fiona Hanson/PA Archive A police box outside Earl's Court station, London He was stranded and so had to sleep in a crammed police box in Woodingdean, East Sussex before starting his shift again at 7am the next day. Kingswood's colleagues said that he was calling upon Bear Grylls survival tips to keep him going during the night. A spokesperson said: "He managed a few hours' kip before being back out on duty." Chief superintendent Paul Morrison, …

As much as I think Cameron is crap, May would be even worse, a very ambitious woman, with much power, very dangerous. She has managed to virtually kill off the best Police Force in the world, and lower it's morale to zero. I wonder what her next step would be, invade Scotland, they may have WMD's, They have that i…

Why does it seem and why should it be so bloody difficult to transfer from one Force to another? Apart from a lengthy application form that needs to know everything down to your inside leg measurement I know find that Occ Health are dragging their heels in copying MY records due to all sorts of reasons made up as they go along. I am not even allowed to help this process by copying my own records!!! The point is all this information is on file, many times over and yet the push of a simple 'send' button seems beyond most! No wonder the service is where it is today. Its about time that transferring from A-B is made simple. Anyone else experiencing the same frustrations???

Unlike our own peeps the Civil Service have carried their low turn out to mean action. Unison are still consulting. Of course will this mean those who did not wish to vote for industrial action will take full advantage of the overtime etc that will be available?????? I hope not http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21661083 The UK's largest civil service union has voted for strike action in a row over job losses, pay and pensions. The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) says 61% of those who voted in a national ballot opted to strike, while 80% voted for other forms of industrial action. Turnout among the union's 250,000 members balloted was 28%. The PCS, which w…

In the light of the Vicky Price affair, Plebgate and the introduction of elected commissioners I'm trying to undertake some research on the attitudes of police towards drugs policy, politicians and the process of implementing policy on the ground. I'd be grateful for survey responses from anyone who has an opinion on this relationship, the survey is very brief! Thanks, any responses are very appreciated: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LCHGJBB

At around 7.45pm this evening police were responding to an incident inside the Metro Arena , Newcastle. Officers parked a marked police car at the side of the Arena, before leaving it unattended. Moments later a 36-year-old woman was knocked over when the unattended vehicle rolled down the hill to where she was standing. Police are currently investigating the circumstances around the incident. Disgraced former police chief Ali Dizaei has been given the go-ahead to challenge his conviction for corruption. The former Scotland Yard commander was found guilty of misconduct and perverting the course of justice for a second time at a retrial in February. The 49-year-old was sacked in May this year but has now been granted permission to challenge his latest conviction at the Court of Appeal. Dizaei was first convicted of framing young businessman Waad al-Baghdadi in a street row in 2010 but the conviction was quashed a year later. After the second trial he received a three-year prison sentence at London's Southwark Crown Court though this was reduced by the 15 mon…

A man who was fined for urinating in central Glasgow has become the first in the city to have his car clamped for failing to pay a fixed penalty ticket. The man, who lives in the north of the city, was fined £60 by police for antisocial behaviour over the incident. His Mercedes car was clamped after he failed to respond to warnings over non payment of the fine. The man was then required to pay the original sum, plus additional costs, to reclaim his car. Vehicles have been clamped before in Glasgow but the Scottish Court Service (SCS) said this was the first for failing to pay a police antisocial behaviour fixed penalty ticket. 'Decisive action' If the man had not pa…
