http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2287183/A-great-day-British-justice-Theresa-May-vows-UK-European-Court-Human-Rights.html We have heard all this before, I will believe it when it actually happens. She will have a huge fight to get it passed CLEGG who loves the Human Rights Act, and no doubt the Lib/Dems will vote against it, Even if she gets it through, she has still to ensure that Immigration Judges won't grant them permission to stay in the UK(Judges will still be able to prevent deportation) because they have a KITTEN OR A HAMPSTER. What 'bad news' is she trying to bury with this ANNOUNCEMENT.

I watched with interest the magistrate's bail decision speech on Sky news, but what a long winded speech it was too. I know that things are done differently in other countries, but the magistrate seemed to be giving almost a blow by blow account of what the court knows to date. I would have thought the decision could have been given with the magistrate simply giving a precis of the facts, rightly or wrongly I was losing the will to live by the time the decision was announced. I'm just glad bail decisions weren't so long winded from my custody Sgts. when I was working. Like I said, i'm sure there were reasons but perhaps someone could outline them for me. OAH perhaps. Chee…

From the GMPs Facebook page: An off duty police officer was assaulted after challenging a man about smoking on the tram. At about 1am on Saturday 23 February 2013, the 45-year-old off duty officer was with two friends on the tram at Altrincham station. A group of about six men were on the platform, one of who was smoking at the doors to the tram. The man informed him that he was not allowed to smoke on the tram or the platform, prompting the offender to become verbally abusive. As the tram set off, the man identified himself as a police officer and asked whether the man had a valid tram ticket, to which he replied “no”. A second member from the group then started ac…

We have all heard the tory politicians harping on about the terrible deficit that the Labour party left them with, but it's gone on for so long now, that i've lost track as to exactly how the Labour party caused this deficit in the first place. I'm not for one minute saying I have any sympathy for them at all, and I know that Brown sold off quite a lot of our gold reserves, but what else is it that they did to cause such a serious situation ?

Vicky Pryce trial has exposed a breathtaking level of ignorance and stupidity By discharging the jury which had failed to reach even a majority verdict, the judge, Mr Justice Sweeney, did not hide his astonishment and dismay at the way it had behaved. On Tuesday, the jurors had presented him with a list of ten questions which revealed that they simply did not have a clue about what they had heard as evidence, what they had been told by himself or indeed what they were supposed to be doing there at all. For example, they asked for a definition of reaching a verdict ‘beyond reasonable doubt’. This was despite the fact that the judge had already given them guidance on …

Special Constable on phone when she collided with biker David Bartholomew A DORSET Police Special Constable involved in a fatal road crash was on her mobile phone at the time, an inquest heard. Collette Carpenter was involved in a conversation with her partner when her Peugeot 206 collided with motorcyclist David Bartholomew, who died from horrific injuries later that day, district coroner Sheriff Payne was told. The Bournemouth inquest was told that Miss Carpenter, formerly of Colehill, initially denied using her phone during the journey when interviewed by police. She later told officers she had briefly taken an incoming call before eventually admitting …

When I joined the Special Constabulary 30 years ago, the respect and credibility never rose higher than indifference on the part of their regular colleagues. When I joined the Special Constabulary 30 years ago, the respect and credibility never rose higher than indifference on the part of their regular colleagues. Over the years successive emergencies and public disturbances raised the value of a volunteer force to supplement the regular force but something is still not right. It still lacks the cache of its closest relative, the Territorial Army, or the unalloyed public support of other volunteers such as the RNLI or St John Ambulance. Specials are people who, rather t…
