I'm sure we have all had a problem at one time or another with people 'borrowing' milk, or 'liberating' a chocolate biscuit left in the shift fridge, but this seems a bit drastic to me

From MSN: A married police community support officer "used the criminal intelligence system as a dating agency" to strike up affairs with single mothers and victims of domestic abuse while on duty, a court has been told. Peter Bunyan, an officer with Devon and Cornwall Police, is alleged to have accessed highly sensitive police data to perform background checks on women and their former partners after so-called "welfare" visits to victims of crime. He is accused of neglecting his duties by turning his police radio down on shifts before having sex with women, including at a police neighbourhood office, as well as encouraging one mentally ill woman to send explicit pictu…

http://www.motoring.co.uk/car-news/drink-drive-loophole-to-be-closed_51303 I like the sentiment here, but unless the accuracy can be proven to reach the standard of "beyond all reasonable doubt", it's all a hiding to nothing (except the failure to provide penalty). Plus, the testing regime for the Home Office Scientific Development Branch is hardly what we'd call quick!

What do we think to this then? I think that if you wouldn't be happy for any member of the public to read an email or message you send - then don't send it and also imagining they were referring to a member of your family - yes, it may well have been referring to pdp but I'd be pretty livid!

It's reported on the news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21847226 that further spending cuts totalling 2.5 billion are to be made to various departments, including the Police. This is on top of the current spending review. the Police will be exempt for the first year, but come April 2014, police budgets will fall another 1%. There are rumours that many forces would be struggling come 2015/16, and from my own force I've heard the forecast is very dire. This further cut will therefore have a huge impact on all forces, and maybe the catalyst for some redundancies.........

I've just been listening to dear George and unless my ears deceived me, with the (honourable) exception of the army, public sector pay increment freezes are to be extended for another year (and max pay rises held at 1%). At the same time he's knocking a penny off the cost of a pint of beer. Here's an idea; how about he doesn't take the penny off beer and uses that cash to honour the terms and conditions that public sector workers signed up to!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2296218/Fewer-police-officers-sent-investigate-missing-people-cases-new-plans-announced-today.html Fewer police officers will be sent to investigate missing people cases under new plans announced today Police forces across the country will change the way that they deal with missing people following failures in cases such as the Rochdale child sex ring. Plans announced today will stop officers getting called out to around a third of missing people cases. The aim is to free up officers' time and to improve the way forces deal with children who repeatedly go missing from care, and might fall prey to sexual abuse. Poli…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-21798486 Well at least the CC knows it is wrong, but the fact is this wouldn't be down to just one Officer's decision confirms my view something is very wrong in Essex Police. The sad fact is the public say Police focus on the wrong things and treat ASB, burglary etc with little importance, well here's evidence how little importance Essex Police place on burglary and it's disgusting. I shall be writing to the PCC to see what he has to say on the subject. No wonder TCF when this sort of thing is going on. The burglar must be having a party down the pub after that result.
