WOMAN has told of her devastation after her pet rabbit was killed by a police dog chasing suspected criminals. The dog was being used to help find suspected thieves who had run through gardens in Bell Farm Avenue, York, when it grabbed George the rabbit in one of the gardens. It died as a result of its injuries and officers have “apologised profusely” for the incident. Melissa Richardson, 20, who has had her pet since she was seven years old, said: “I went into the garden and the dog was in the bush with the rabbit. “The officer was telling the dog to get off and come to him. “When I got there the rabbit crawled out and I picked him up. “I was crying all of last nig…

MSP concerned for safety of G8 bound Scots police INDEPENDENT MSP John Finnie a former policeman who sits on the Scottish Parliaments Justice Committee has called on Scots officers not to be deployed to the remilitarised Northern Ireland for the controversial G8 summit. Scottish police officers will be drafted in to the Province to help cover security for the meeting of G8 leaders in June. Mr Finnie, also a former secretary for the Scottish Police Federation in the Highlands, fears for the safety of the officers being deployed the number he believes to be around 300 particularly following recent tensions over the flags dispute in Belfast. The Independent MSP, who …

http://www.dailymail...-000-salary.htm The sorry saga of Cleveland top brass is almost at an end. Bonnard found guilty. I don't suppose for one minute they will take his pension away. Bonnard is typical of some ACPO people, arrogant and trying to blame everyone but himself. Go join the Pond Bonnard, you will find Price, Dezaei, and a few other ex ACPO there wallowing in self pity.

Is this foul-mouthed, self-obsessed Twitter teen really the future of British policing? Youth crime tsar's sex and drug rants Paris Brown, 17, boasted about her sex life, drug taking and drinking in a series of tweets In one she wrote: 'I really wanna make a batch of hash brownies' And she also said: 'Everyone on Made in Chelsea looks like a f****** fag' She was appointed to change perceptions of young people who she said are mostly 'lovely' Keith Vaz MP says she must be removed from her £15,000 taxpayer-funded post immediately She tells Mail on Sunday: 'I am not a racist or a sexist, but I have been guilty of showing off in the past' Britain's first youth police commi…

Scotland Yard sergeant resigns in disgrace over Thatcher tweets in which he hoped her death was 'degrading and painful' A serving police officer who sent a series of sickening tweets about the death of Margaret Thatcher has today resigned from his job at Scotland Yard. Sergeant Jeremy Scott said he hoped the former prime minister’s death at the age of 87 was ‘painful and degrading’. The 52-year-old Metropolitan Police officer also suggested the world would be a ‘better place’ if David Cameron, too, were dead. Scotland Yard said today: 'The officer concerned, today submitted his resignation and it was accepted with immediate effect.' However a spokesman said he …

Dorset police has announced that its marine unit is to be kept, but will rely upon the increases assistance of Special Constables. Currently the unit has two Specials attached to it. Interesting development in the sense that a specialist department will be predominantly policed by volunteers. Thoughts? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-22113490 A homeless shoplifter has been jailed for 18 months for his 342nd offence after a judge told him he had a "dreadful record". David Archer, formerly of Mostyn, Flintshire, had 261 other convictions for shoplifting, other thefts and burglary, Mold Crown Court heard. He also had 11 convictions over an Asbo which bans him from charity shops and bars him from possessing a charity box. The reason for posting this is not to be horrified over the number of convictions, i dont think many officers will be surprised. The main point is that the criminal justice system is completely useless. I cant quite work out how …
