SCOTLAND'S new national police service has been urged to scrap a make-or-break fitness test for new recruits, after claims it "disproportionately disadvantages women" and could even expose the force to employment tribunals. The call, from the Scottish Women's Development Forum (SWDF), a gender-equality working group of the Association of Chief Police Officers, comes as the new Police Service of Scotland (PSoS) considers how to test officers for fitness. The existing test includes a punishing "shuttle run" in which candidates must run faster and faster between two points 15m apart, keeping pace with a quickening electronic bleep. The test is usually undergone towards the …

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22005070 I believe cautions are a good thing, if the person has admitted guilt and is of previous good charactor, but they where a bit naughty then they deserve a slap on the wrist and a telling off. Also I think its a bit cheeky from the magistrates guy saying that the police should send them to court. Most of my jobs (including ABH) have been given either time served or conditional discharge, so they don't give the victim justice either

There is a video on the site as well as a good few pictures. Judging by the pictures it appears one of the unmarked cars has made tactical contact with the golf.

Police officers on the beat in London could end 200 years of tradition by swapping their dark blue uniforms for high visibility yellow jackets.Police officers on the beat in London could end 200 years of tradition by swapping their dark blue uniforms for high visibility yellow jackets. Metropolitan Police bosses believe the fluorescent, waterproof jackets will make it easier for the public to spot officers who are patrolling on the streets. A trial of the new “high-viz” uniform is taking place in three London boroughs and Londoners were asked their opinion of the change in a two week survey on Facebook and Twitter. The Met said the results were still being examined but…

Op Trident Sheds Fatal Shooting Investigation RoleThe Metropolitan Police has announced that its recently re-focused Operation Trident Gang Command is to shed responsibility for investigating fatal shooting incidents – the reason why it was originally formed nearly 15 years ago. In a move to clarify media reports that the op is to be disbanded, the Met said that it had transferred responsibility for probing future fatal firearms incidents to the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC) in a move to improve efficiency. While fatal shootings have traditionally been investigated by Trident, a statement issued by the force said that other killings – including the stabbings…

Firstly, let me say that I have no time for Osbourne as a rule, but in the interest of fairness in this case, George Osbourne was not driving the vehicle, someone else was. Yes it's true that we have no idea what he may or may not have said to the driver as he was parking, but until or unless facts are known by the press and media, my own view is that Osbourne cannot be taken to task over this incident.
