The announcement by Ann Barnes was one of her main manifesto pledges in the campaign leading up to her election as the county's first PCC last November. Police officers injured after car rammed in Newry Two police officers have been injured after their patrol vehicle was rammed by a car in Newry, County Down. The police were responding to a report of anti-social behaviour when the incident happened at Ardmaine Gardens on Thursday. A 16-year-old was arrested at the scene and later released on police bail. A 23-year-old man has been charged with driving while disqualified, dangerous driving, no insurance and having an offensive weapon.
