One person has died and two are believed to be seriously injured following a reported knife attack in Woolwich, south-east London. BBC home affairs correspondent Matt Prodger said reports suggested a man was attacked in the street by two individuals and this was followed by a police shooting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22630303 https://twitter.com/BOYADEE Sounds horrific if Twitter reports are to be believed.

LONDON Bridge train station was shut and evacuated by armed police after false reports of a man wielding an axe hit Twitter this evening. A picture of police outside London Bridge station (PIC: TWITTER/ @ALEXJLDIAZ) British Transport Police (BTP) officers and Met Police attended the station at 5.07pm after reports of a man being spotted with a weapon. An armed police officer told a express.co.uk reporter at the scene that the weapon the man was believed to be carrying was an axe. Twitter users posted pictures of officers outside the station, with a number claiming that they saw a man carrying an axe at London Bridge. One user tweeted: "#londonbridge #shutdown afte…

I've seen on the news that a high court judge has just ruled that what Sally Bercow's tweet was considered by that court to be libel. She has to attend court in the near future to apologise to Mr Mc Alpine. Why doesn't he sue her and give the proceeds to a childrens charity, that would at least let others know that they cannot get away with something like that.

I can't quite remember what I was doing at 9, I think it involved Lego, Bowling Parties and Ice Cream...House raids weren't very high on my agenda. 9...Wow http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-22665842 Boy, 9, admits stealing car keys before crash in Hartlepool 4 hours ago A nine-year-old boy admitted burgling a house and stealing the keys to a car that crashed moments later. Cleveland Police said a red Vauxhall Vectra was stolen from a home on Miller Crescent, Hartlepool. It crashed into a parked Renault Megane on 16 May. The child was too young to be prosecuted because he was under the age of criminal responsibility, the force said. A spokeswoman said inq…

Just wanted to say well done to the ARV's that rocked up on scene at the Woolwich terrorist job. I dont think its been mentioned once yet. Police get slagged off something wrotten when there is a police shooting but not this time. The attack was horrendous and my heart goes out to the man and his family but from a professional point of view, ive seen a lot of the camera angles etc and it looks like our lads and girls did a cracking job, under immense pressure upon arrival. God only knows what they have been told on the radio if anything whilst on route. Obvioulsy the IPCC will look into it as usual but there wont be any dirt to dig up on this and I havn't heard one p…

Two years on from the riots that scarred Britain, hundreds of police are training at a secret base with a fearsome new deterrent Onlookers said policemen in riot helmets banged batons on plastic shields during gruelling drills. Meanwhile colleagues played the role of a mob of rioters who were drenched with cold water fired out in short bursts. The cannon, a custom-built Ziegler Wasserwerfer 9000, was quietly brought in from Northern Ireland ahead of the G8 talks next month. Up to 4,000 officers are being trained to use water cannon, ostensibly so they can work alongside colleagues across the Irish Sea at the talks at the Lough Erne resort at Enniskillen. However, w…

A mother and father have lost their son, his sisters have lost their brother, his nieces and nephews have lost their uncle, his wife has lost her husband and a little 2 year old boy has lost his daddy. Lee Rigby lost his life in the most unimaginable and barbaric way possible on the streets of London, going about his day to day business. The Rigby family's life will never be the same again. A life sentence of hurt, anger and disbelief. I truly hope that Lee Rigby is now in a better place. A place where no such evil exists! RIP

Interesting article from the BBC about the cost of PCCs and their staff. Its shocking how low the turnout was, just 15%, and one area the guy was elected with only 5% of the vote. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22624096

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-22636857 Another PCC article. Seems worrying that the Home Office said that it was up to voters to hold the PCC to account. As I said yesterday, in one area only 5% of the electorate voted so I doubt they will hold him to account!

Chief Constable Jacqui Cheer said the case involved "sifting through a lot of information" Investigations into alleged corruption at Cleveland Police have now cost more than £4m, the BBC has learned. The bill for criminal inquiry Operation Sacristy and separate disciplinary hearings has reached £4.3m, three years after allegations were first made. Chief Constable Jacqui Cheer said the case was "very complex" and the Crown Prosecution Service would consider the evidence and charges in September. Ten people have been arrested and nine remain on bail. Stockton South MP James Wharton said the investigation had brought an "unwelcome additional cost". Cost concerns 'inevita…
