http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22346971 End Quote Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan"That's bad for justice, bad for victims and goes against all the evidence." Peter Neyroud, former chief constable of Thames Valley Police, told the BBC that three conditions had to be met for restorative justice to be an option - low-harm offence, the offender had to accept their guilt and the victim had to consent. He said some cases which used restorative justice "didn't look right" and he expressed particular concern about domestic abuse incidents, saying there was an issue with the "genuineness of consent". Mr Neyroud said there was concern the resolutions were being used as…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22005070 The use of police cautions for criminal offences in England and Wales is to be reviewed, the government has announced. Well here we go again. Lets have some reviews into stuff. Once again, its the police failing in some way, while delivering a thing we have been asked to deliver. Legislation has just been changed around cautions so that we can issue more of them without having to check with cps and youth final warnings and reprimands have been changed to youth cautions and conditional cautions (they literally have different names, wow!), so did no one look into this before changing the legislation? Who would bother As far as i ca…

http://news.sky.com/story/1087279/white-britons-in-retreat-from-minority-areas An interesting article about the lack of integration between white Britons and ethnic minorities. Labours immigration policy is being blamed for it but is it more a case of white Britons refusing to integrate or is it white Britons being forced out by immigrants? Hard to say without more information. One thing is for sure it's going to cause more problems than it does good

With the deaths of four horse riders and more than 100 casualties on the roads in a year, it’s easy to understand why many have taken to wearing high-visibility bibs. But the bright clothing gained them unwanted attention when police warned they could be prosecuted – for impersonating an officer. The Association of Chief Police Officers has written to the British Horse Society criticising the safety gear. The problem appears to be that riders often wear fluorescent jackets with the words POLITE or PLEASE on a black panel, to encourage motorists to give them space. Some sport the reflective blue-and-silver chequered border used on police uniforms. Police responded a…

A 47-year-old police sergeant died while on duty on Friday evening. Sergeant Ian Harman suffered a suspected heart attack while sat at his desk at the Merton Park and Cannon Hill Safer Neighbourhoods Team base, in Aberconway Road, Morden, at about 5.30pm on May 3. Despite the efforts of his colleagues and the London Ambulace Service, they were unable to save him. Sgt Harman served in the Metropolitan Police Service for 24 years and had been based in Merton for the last five. The flag at Wimbledon Police Station is at half-mast today in his honour. http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/local/wimbledonnews/10403318.Police_sergeant_dies_of_suspected_heart_attack_at_h…
