The pictures also different officers uniforms, one being the national, the other being the MET. Safe to say, the Mets is smarter.

Lily-May Allen said the police told her she could not draw on the floor and "kind of scared her" Continue reading the main storyRelated StoriesPlayground games get modern twist Police told a girl of 10 that drawing a chalk hopscotch grid on the pavement outside her house was criminal damage. Bob Allen, from Ramsgate, said the officers frightened his daughter, Lily-May Allen, and has lodged a complaint with Kent Police, who are trying to trace them. He said: "I'm so infuriated that they didn't come and knock on the door and ask to see me or her mum. "They've just gone and said something to her and then just driven off." Advice 'not necessary' He added: "That's not t…

http://m.guardian.co.uk/society/2013/may/10/mental-health-metropolitan-police-report I read this and don't see any mention of changing the mental health services. In my opinion that's where the massive failings are. We as the police seem to be the "go to" people when everyone else refuses to help. I assisted with a 136 the other day and when we got to the mh unit they refused to come and assess the patient for well over an hour. Instead trying to find any excuse that meant they didn't have to take the patient. I wonder of any of that is in the report

South Wales Police pay £20,000 compensation after pursuit crashLee Lewis, 22, suffered multiple injuries when he crashed into a stone wall in Margam, Port Talbot, in 2008. Five officers were given written warnings for misconduct in 2009 after disobeying orders from their control room to stop pursuing Mr Lewis. South Wales Police said lessons had been learnt from the incident. But the family, who were awarded compensation in an out-of-court settlement after a civil claim for negligence, told BBC Wales that this did not minimise their frustration at the way the case was handled. Mr Lewis died 12 days after the crash in Morriston Hospital, Swansea, in May 2008, after dev…

Queen's Speech: Anti-social behaviour changes proposed: Almost 20 powers to deal with anti-social behaviour would be replaced with six, under government plans outlined in the Queen's Speech. The rights of victims would be the focus, with quick action taken to deal with persistent anti-social behaviour, details revealed in Parliament showed. -Well, looks like things could be getting a little bit interesting. Quite a few changes that will impact on what we do and how and when. Assuming they happen. A few points: "The crime bill includes the new "community trigger", where police, councils and agencies would be forced to act if five households made a complaint about an…

I have started this thread as a container for all the news and comments that will result from today's local elections. Personally, I just hope that the Cons/LibDems get a bloody nose.
